Maddens On Gull Lake

Wonderful staff and excellent location

The Strawberry Ridge section pool could use some updating. The children's wadding pool had a strange color and the whole pool area could use some renovations. The other outdoor pool near the lobby is beautiful, but did not have a wading pool for our little one so we did not use this. Good food onsite. Typical prices for large resorts in northern Minnesota. Very friendly staff. Looking forward to future stays!

The Fairway restaurant was very disappointing. Husband ordered a chicken Caesar wrap and it came without the chicken. The server observed it and said they were terribly busy and would put in for another one! I ate , we waited nothing came. The waiter brought a to - go container thinking we got it ! He apologized and said he check on it! After a hour passed we said to just bring the bill. We were charged for it anyway and the server was so busy we never saw him again. We just paid the $63.00 and my husband went without a meal. Apparently, very short staffed.

What a great visit top notch resort love staying there we will be back soon.

We were basically left to 2 choices fo dining. Of the 2, we dined in the grill area. The food was just ok. They didnt use real butter to grill the bread, instead using the fake oil stuff which is awful to begin with. It transfers the burned flavor of sitting out the grill too long then the grill metallic tastes transfers to the bread. (I know this because i was a chef for many years)

So much to do and the staff is incredibly friendly!

Maddens always delivers on quality and a great experience. And a rare place today that still has daily maid service! What a treat to come back to a fresh room after a long day.

Absolutely amazing place for a family vacation. Even though the weather wasn’t great we had 3 indoor pools to choose from.

Madden’s Resort is a class act! They have numerous amenities. What ever you’re looking for. Golf, boating, fishing, swimming in lake or pools, spa, shopping, dining, and all in the heart of the Great North Woods of Minnesota. Plus many dining and entertainment options off resort as well. Reasonable price for all you get. Staff is friendly and professional.

Great family resort w/ a lot of amenities - The Classic Golf Course is fantastic!

It would be very nice to have microwaves in the rooms. We had leftovers from the restaurant on the resort and it would have been nice to reheat rather than throw out. Rented a pontoon for the day. It was a very comfortable pontoon.

The building we stayed in was a bit outdated but to be expected. It did give off the “Dirty Dancing” resort vibes tho! Everyone was very nice! The weather was beautiful except the tornado that was north of us by 3 miles. We did take shelter in the conference area so that was a bonus. Overall it was a great time for our first time!

Room needed work. Property is very nice. Staff was very nice.

Truly a top-notch, owner-operated resort. The best of what an up north experience has to offer: lake, golf, and good food. All staff are helpful and friendly.
