HIghland Lake Resort is a very comfortable, family-oriented place with motel-style units on two sides of the property and what looked like larger units and a function room adjoining an old New Englander house. There is a large central recreational area with a fire pit and seating. A short walk to the lake will bring you to wooden swings and other assorted seating. It's like camp! The rooms were basic - everything you need and nothing you don't. Beds were in good condition and comfy. Very small, older bathrooms, but adequate. There is a small cafe on the property for breakfast and ice cream. The staff was friendly and pleasant. There is holistic/spiritual vibe about the property - something you don't find too often in similar accommodations. Low key R&R kind of place.

The staff was very accommodating. They met all our requests, such as paper plates, and coffee creamer. It was very nice having coffee pods supplied for the Kurig.

I was charmed by the upbeat little messages everywhere, there were happy paintings on the fence in the yard, even our wifi password was something like 'joyful'. The woman who checked us in was lovely and helpful. They offer kayaks and PFD's, bikes and helmets, a workout room with good equipment, a pool table, ping pong, a sauna, yard games, and much more. Plus a big beautiful lake.

When we rented our room, I didn’t tell you there was a north and south so the place we stayed. None of the amenities were close. We weren’t on the water. We were up on the main road with no amenities. We had to walk over to the south side .. we went to the front desk and asked if we could be put on the other side. We were told no without even looking, and there were barely any cars on the southside. It was not sold out. I would not recommend this to anybody with because the staff was not helpful.

Very sweet, family oriented. Nice new chairs and fire pit areas. Nice wooden swings for 2 by the lake, many kayaks, canoes. Fruendly staff, tiny bathroom, but cute and clean. Coffee and refrigerator.

This was such a great place to stay! Clean and comfy. Not fancy, but well maintained and very affordable! Great location. Close to town and great restaurants. The grounds are nice and kayaks and paddle boards are in good shape. Everyone that worked there was super friendly too. Would absolutely recommend.

Stayed there once before and enjoyed being in the main motel overlooking the lake. This time was very disappointing. They put us in the "North Resort" a nearby addition to the main resort. You had to walk through other houses about 500 yards to the main resort with all the amenities. I verbalized disappointment with this, and they refused to move us. The kayaks and amenities were not maintained and falling apart. Had to use the main resort public restroom which the toilet was clogged and disgusting. The kicker was we were told to walk down a path from the North resort to a small, shared beach. They had nothing there for guest to even sit on and the owners of the shared beach set up their docks, chairs where we felt very uncomfortable and intruding. Our room was clean and comfortable, but we will never return.
