Hyatt Vacation Club at Highlands Inn

This resort arguably has one of the most spectacular views in Carmel. Unfortunately, our room had a very limited view, which was a huge disappointment. The room was not ready at 4:00 pm and we had to wait until nearly 6:00 to get into the room, however they were able to reverse the resort fee which was appreciated. The other issue was that the room reeked of smoke, so bad we could hardly breathe. Probably because the real wood fireplace had been used before us, but leaving behind the smoke is unacceptable. Other than this issue, the room was clean and quite large.

Beautiful property in a beautiful setting. My only complaint was communication between staff and my husband. We had an issue with housekeeping and reported it. We were told they would get back to us and they never did. My husband had to leave a vm and we still never heard back from them.

They did not have a crib, only a low-quality pack-n-play, which took a long time to set up due to being flimsy, and was incredibly small. Additionally, the sofa sleeper did not de-tach from the sofa (high off of the ground) so our toddler could not safely sleep on it and we could not use it. The room was also extremely hot for our children overnight (76 degrees with the provided floor fan). No one slept due to these uncomfortable sleeping arrangements and temperature. It was a huge mess of an experience and not a great view. No upside, and huge waste of money

My spouse got a toe fracture recent to the trip itinerary . We requested for a room at the ground floor which was ignored sighting unavailability. Not happy with the hospitality by the checkin staff.

I loved the view of the Bay. Room was clean. Staff, bar, and restaurant was great. Had issues with noise from unit above 1st night, 2nd night had plumbing issues tub gurgling, toilet bubbling up with foam. Tech came and said this has happened before coming from upstair unit.

Older rooms that are spacious and have all the items you would want. Jacuzzi tubs outdated and loud. Neighbors stomping was a bit irritating. The property is beautiful and the view from the resturant amazing. We watched the sun sink into the ocean just beyond the waves crashing against the rocks. It was the highlight of the stay!

Room is clean, staff is super nice and the restaurant on site is also good.

Dated room, but ok. Clean bed , but no aircon. Had to ask for bathrobes .

Wonderful view and nice, large room. However, checking in took almost an hour with a long line. Driving was a bit tough as well with the steep and winding roads so my car got problem for left turning so we had to took it to a shop to fix it.

supportive staff, room was clean. kitchen had lot of useful appliances but needed cleaning before you could use them.

Amazing time here . So many great views . I'm pretty sure you can see the ocean from almost any room . Amazingly clean . Given wine or champagne while waiting to check in . Staff was very friendly and down to earth . Heads up the fire place is old school so think of a fire starter or Duralog if you don't know how to get a fire going . A sauna or steam room would top this place off as perfect .
