Good and varied breakfast buffet items. Pool was delightful, with wind screens in some locations. Fairly new facility. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Elevators - very short waits for them to arrive.

Fairly new, big, clean rooms and good breakfast

This was our second time staying here and we absolutely loved it. The property is nice and quiet. The hotel is so clean and spacious. The pool is amazing with tons of space to spread out and a hot tub that fits lots of people. The rooms are great. We didn't love getting an ADA room because the beds were lower to the ground, the shower spills water into the bathroom, and the closet is lower so it's less usable. But the elevators are quick. The breakfast is good with some variety each morning. There are good places to eat across the street. We will happily stay here with our four kids when we visit San Diego in the future.

My only issue was with the check-in process. When I checked in, I was charged $366. When I asked why, I was told it was a security deposit. That amount seemed unusual, so I asked for clarification but didn’t receive a clear explanation. At checkout, I requested a receipt and asked about the charge again. I was then told the security deposit was $50 per night. Since I stayed five nights, that would have been $250—not $366. After asking several more questions, the young lady spoke with someone else, and I finally learned that $116 of the charge was for taxes that Expedia had not included when I prepaid. I completely understand owing the additional taxes. My concern is that this should have been explained clearly at check-in. Instead, it felt like my questions were being brushed off. I recommend providing additional training for the front desk staff so they can accurately explain the breakdown of charges to guests. Better communication would have made this an excellent experience.

The rooms and staff were great

I am a Bonvoy member and they assured me that they would credit my account but they haven't done so after more than two weeks. Staff untrained. Gave my Amex Bonvoy card for incidentals and then at checkout clerk said I was fine then after in emails insisted I complete form to authorize credit card for snack purchases.
