It was a great stay. The only complaint was the room had a slight odor. Other than that the experience was very neat. The beds were comfortable. We did enjoy our stay.

Breakfast was lacking (so that you'll go to thier restaurant), staff was cold and I overheard someone saying you have to call down to have your thermostat changed. They didn't share that with me or the guy they were talking to. The lady then proceeded to say that people have been abusing the thermostats. With as much money as it cost I'd expect them to be able to handle their business better than places that charge a lot less.

What a find! We were looking for a hotel outside of St.Louis and asked ChatGPT for suggestions. The overall pick was The Principal. Great ratings, great rate. We were already impressed before we reached the hotel. Columbia is a beautiful city. As we drove down Main St it was like stepping back in time. The hotel has a history you’ll have to discover for yourself. You’ll be very happy you stayed here. Graphite, the restaurant, has to-die-for desserts and Cafe on the Abbey is a must for breakfast (be sure to pick up a pecan brownie to go!). We will be back for sure.

Only problem was the AC unit in our room cycled somewhat loudly while we slept. Other than that would absolutely recommend!

The Principal Hotel is a jewel. Accommodations were very adequate. The staff was super friendly and the surrounding area was quaint. My issues are the room needed a little more cleaning, i.e. lots of hair left in the sofa bed along with food crumbs and Carmex. Next, a fan was constantly running and could not be turned off so the room was mostly always freezing for us. The space was large and more then enough room for everyone.
