SpringHill Suites by Marriott Columbia

The good: the woman working the counter that evening (Layla?) was very sweet and helpful. The locations is great. The bad: My first room had one of those doors that connects to another room. The lock would not latch, and I don’t feel like paying $170+ for a room that other people have access to. That was room 404 or 406, I believe. I was then moved to room 307. Same issue, except this time I couldn’t get the lock or handle to catch. I had driven 12 hours, so I dealt with it and blocked the door with the sofa like a looney toon. Then, I went to take a shower and there were someone’s frickin’ panties just hung up in the shower. At this point it was just becoming comically bad. It’s late, I’ve already unpacked for the night. I used tissue and took down the trophies and just got through it. I don’t like complaining. I don’t like leaving reviews like this. But for being one of the more expensive hotels in Columbia, the bar should be higher. The other photos show poor shower drainage causing mold buildup/damage and improperly installed outlets. As of right now, I would suggest to others to stay elsewhere until standards are raised. This isn’t the one.

Unfortunately, our bedroom was muggy throughout our entire stay, even with the air conditioning on, which made it difficult for my husband to sleep at night. The water in the sink also drained very slowly. On our last night, we noticed bugs. There was a roach in the room, and because of the low water pressure in the sink, we noticed a bug trying to come up through the drain. This really made me paranoid, and I was hoping we wouldn’t carry anything home with us. Breakfast was okay, but the food was very bland.

No complaints.

Overall nice hotel for good price

The property was modern, clean, comfortable. Friendly staff. The queen bed with trundle sofa was accommodating to our family’s needs. We enjoyed the breakfast and vast selection of food. We highly recommend this hotel.

Water bottles should be provided as a complementary for the price that is being charged

Our stay was good. Room was clean and there were clean linens for the pull out bed. Breakfast was good as well.

The food choices at breakfast. They were no fresh fruit choices, or anything that wasn't microwaved. It was largely very unappealing.

Nice color scheme; restful The walk in closet was amazing The cart was a bit difficult to push when loaded The carpeting outside the elevator was a bit dirty and stained but hallway carpet looked plush and luxurious Toilet was lower than normal
