Holiday Inn Express Destin E - Commons Mall area by IHG

If you like Motel 6 you'll love this place. This place is not well kept both inside and out. If you're okay with that then this is your place. Small details like my faucet not screwed down and the toilet connections not connected to the wall. No ice machines working. I could go on but it would just be complaining. Smokers all sit at the front door to greet you. We were just passing through Destin and wanted to stop and see the area. It's a beautiful area. When I come to stay long term it won't be here.

Clean room. Comfortable area and close to everything. Staff was helpful and friendly. Only issue was the door stuck so it was hard to close and open. And other guests kept slamming their doors at all hours of the night non stop. But that wasn't the hotels problem. Family had a comfortable stay so we'd stay here again.

Ice machine on 1st floor was out. WiFi horrible. Only way you could get an email or make a call is if you walked outside. Loud noise and doors slamming on the 1st floor all night and morning. When you take showers the tub does not drain. Just fills up with water. AC made a loud tapping noise all night. Not much sleep. Just not a stay I wanted for my family.

The restaurant and shopping areas are conveniently located near the beach. The breakfast was good, but it can get crowded quite quickly. The coffee was good, too. My only complaint is that my room was close to the kitchen, so I could hear all the noise and it was difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Very close to the beach, comfortable beds/pillows. Good breakfast. I dislike that there wasn’t coffee in the rooms but to reduce waste, it’s okay.

Close to the Beach and to plenty of Restaurants and stores Some staffs are Not willing to Help when needed.Ice machine wasn’t working,weak coffee,uncomfortable sofa bed.

It could’ve been a little bit cleaner. A couple hairs were found in the tub. I just simply rinsed it out before stepping into the shower. Otherwise it was fine! Bed was comfortable and room stayed cold. My room did not have a coffee pot but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Excellent location! A walk to the beach but you can drive to other beaches nearby. Comfy beds. The TV remote had a mind of its own and did not work well at all. Breakfast was not bad but could use some fruit and the orange juice was watery.

They ran out of towels the last night but that was ok

I've stayed at Holiday Inn Express properties before and always had good experiences but this location was a huge disappointment and I will never return to it. After driving 11 hours from Texas we were excited to finally arrive, only to be greeted by Brandon at the front desk. He was unfriendly, seemed annoyed that guests needed assistance, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing him. There was no smile, no warm welcome, and no sense of hospitality. It was a terrible first impression after such a long drive.Unfortunately, the hotel itself was even worse. The property is run down, poorly maintained, and filthy. The bathroom floor in our room was so dirty that I poured water on it and scrubbed it myself. The rag was brown after cleaning just a small section of the floor. That should never happen in a hotel.To make matters worse, there was a dead roach lying in the hallway near the complimentary breakfast area that remained there for two days without anyone cleaning it up. That alone speaks volumes about the level of cleanliness and attention this property receives.The photos on Expedia do not accurately reflect the current condition of this hotel.The amount we paid did not match the quality, cleanliness, or overall condition of the property. I expected a clean, comfortable place for my family to stay, and this hotel fell far short of even basic expectations. There are far better options in Destin. I cannot recommend this hotel and will never stay here again.
