La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Eastland

The stafff was great and helped us find some authentic food nearby. The hotel was currently being renovated, there there was some dust. Overall, it was a nice stay for one night.

The Early breakfast had a super kind lady and all the standard options prepared well!

When we arrived, our room as dirty with trash on the floor. We arrived late, around 1100. Our bathroom only had half a roll of toilet paper.

The friendly staff member and convenient location was the only good things I have to say about this property. It was overall filthy and we even had to switch from our original room because of it. They original room given to us has sheets that were still very clearly dirty from the previous people and there was even trash left in the room. The staff member at the front desk was very apologetic and gave us a new room but he had even mentioned that their housekeeping was not the greatest at this time. But even in the new room, everything still felt and seemed fairly dirty. Just not a clean feeling at all staying here, thankfully we only had to stay for one night.

In the morning, a young employee left the clean sheets for the next guest in the hallway on the dirty carpet. I have never seen this before. Additionally, an employee walked into our room without knocking. We still had three hours before checkout. We have been traveling for a month and this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at. It's definitely not worth the price!! There is an AI data center being built in Abilene and there is high demand for lodging in the neighboring areas for the employees. This is driving up demand for hotels and increasing prices. If you can avoid staying in this area, I recommend doing so.

My son broke his hand in his baseball tournament the day we were supposed to stay so we had to return home to have his hand evaluated. La Quinta stated that they would approve a refund since we weren’t able to stay but then when Expedia called 15 minutes after I talked to them to obtain approval for refund, they would not answer the phone. La Quinta kept my money. And I did confirm that they were not sold out and I was not causing them to lose $

The beds are comfortable and safe. The bathrooms are clean as well.

I reported it in person to the front desk but they didn't offer any compensation other than an apology..

I arrived at the property at 2:30 pm and tried to check in. Since the check in time was 3:00 pm, they were going to charge me $50.00 additional to check in early. I can understand if the room was not ready that I may have to wait but just to check in before 3:00 pm is an extra charge...that's just petty.

Was approached in parking lot by woman looking for a ride and met at the door by a panhandler. Be aware.

However, the fitness room was out of commission during my stay, which was disappointing as I was hoping to use that amenity. At check-in, the staff were friendly and welcoming, but I did notice that some of the information being discussed at the front desk was not very confidential, especially with other guests standing nearby. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, but a few improvements in amenities and front desk privacy would enhance the guest experience.

The hotel was clean and quiet. It's within walking distance of restaurants and Walmart. Eastland is a small town with very friendly people.
