Erik's is a unique place - nestled in a neighborhood, this renovated retirement home from the 1970's has so much character. If you are a chain hotel person who likes to know what you are getting, anywhere you go, Erik's is not for you. While the rooms (and I had a one bedroom and a two bedroom) were very clean they are on the sparse side. They offer a mini fridge, Keurig with plenty of pods, the beds were decently comfortable, the linens nice, and I felt safe and comfortable. There are only 8 rooms that are included in the 'hotel' the other part of the building is a home for Autistic adults, the 'non-profit Erik's Retreat' offers a unique opportunity for independent living and working. As a matter of fact, I met Erik himself while he was vacuuming the lobby one morning. I loved my experience at Erik's-oh and it is very conveniently located.

Spacious room - very comfortable!
-
Clean hotel room, well maintained property, very quiet, perfect for a stay in the twin cities.
-
Only issue was communication about the entry. They provided my room number and an access code. Both were needed on the keypad to enter the building. What I and another guest thought was that the access code was sufficient.

Rooms are large, carpets clean, shower pressure good. Bed comfortable;)
-
I really appreciated the check in and check out procedures, no staff required and the use of codes on the doors.

Air conditioning didn't work.

Instructions for Keurig seemed to assume the machine was empty of water. It wasn't. So my hot cocoa overflowed - luckily not also overflowing the catch tray (which I emptied and cleaned). Either staff should make sure Keurig is empty or instructions should be modified.

Property was really quiet and private

Was disappointed in parking. I was alone at nite & walking from car to room. Felt a bit uncomfortable due to unfamiliarity with area/neighbirhood.

The staff was very accommodating to us The plug in for the tv lol

Nice and quiet and very clean

The location worked well for what we wanted. Checking in and out was smooth and very easy. The room was very hot when we got there and the thermostat didn't do anything to really change the comfort of the room. I had to crack open the window to sleep comfortably and it was a cold night (we woke up to a light snow).

The hotel is a stately older building, so beautiful inside, great security, close to everything. The staff made sure I had code to get in to my room & very responsive to my needs. Rooms are older but big, cozy and clean- Coffee maker & frig. Its is very quiet here which is wonderful. I had a small issue with a TV and the staff was quick to help out and made my evening all good.

Carpets, couch, cabinets, remote controls were all dirty… no TVs or clocks in the bedrooms, showers didn’t work well, only a sheet and a thin blanket on the twin beds and no extra blankets
-
The place is in immaculate condition and it is run by very knowledgeable and professional staff. We felt very secure in this location. 10/10 will stay here again!

The room was AMAZING!! All of the artwork inside was beautiful. The buildings around it were lovely and older. Very quiet neighborhood with plenty of walking paths. So welcoming and inviting. I stayed here with my 3 kids. They absolutely loved it as well!

No staff around night or morning. Old and beautiful building. Spacious room. Peaceful surroundings
