We were really excited to find topaz motel. We love the fact that it was beachfront and had a pool. However, this place is in desperate need of a renovation. The bathroom was very clean. There were many holes in the wall and everything was peeling up and very rundown looking.

The room smelled pure humidity, the reception was not presentable

Great location across the street from the beach! Restaurant onsite and a close walk to in town amenities. Had a balcony with a spectacular view of the ocean. Very reasonably priced. No frills and old, but with a lot of charm. Would stay there again.

The property appears to be very active with people who appear to be long term guests moving about, often including late into the night, engaging in conversation across balconies spanning several rooms. The room looked to be unfinished, exposed floor screws in concrete that would otherwise be covered by tile, a 1/4 gap under the front door, interior deadbolt that did not lock in violation of FS 509.211, no lamps or lighting in the living area and light switches that spark. The odor in the room was permeated with stale cigarettes. At 9 AM Saturday, July 4 we were awakened by the sound of drilling into concrete in an adjacent room. Code enforcement should be notified of the obvious violations on this property. There is not a rating low enough for this property. I understand it can be difficult if the owners are dealing with a slow renovation, but at a minimum make sure the unit is clean, which it was not as confirmed by the attached images. .

My door wouldn’t lock I wouldn’t stay there again.

Listen, the hotel is dated, but we love it! The beds are comfortable. The beach is right across the street. The front desk staff were very nice. We've stayed here before and we will continue to choose Topaz Motel.

The staff was very accomodating. Rooms were large and had everything you needed. View was outstanding. Furniture was a bit dated. Bedside lamp had no lampshade on it. Outlet cover was cracked in half. Very minor cosmetic things, but not a deal breaker.

Beautiful view. Everything was good.

Nothing!!! The room was nothing that the photos showed. All photos were false. The place is a dump. Holes in walls. Bathroom door held together with tape. We stayed 1 night after checking for bedbugs. We slept on top of bedcovers because we had driven for 18 hours and needed sleep. Woke at 7a and left. Key cards left on table. The place gives all private motels a bad name. DONT GO THERE!!! Hotel Hell!!

Walk across street and right on the beach. Hot water. Restaurant next door. Food 5 First of all booked a room with a kitchenette checked in went back to the office, said I had paid for a room with a kitchenette was informed that they didn't have kitchenettes. Sent booking.com a message. At this point 5 days later, no return message. This hotel was built-in the 20s.It has endured lots of bad weather and lack of repairs over the years. A few simple fixes would be a good start. Pressure , wash the buildings and the parking lot. Office was in dire need of a good cleaning , and maybe a coat of paint. One consolation no bedbugs, and no roaches. Clean towels every day and the young man doing housekeeping was very polite. Rooms were Cheap 100 nightly

the place is a little old but they are remolding. the secret of this place is the restaurant. best sea food on the island

I booked a kitchenette and when I arrived they told me it's been 6 or 7 months that they took them out. No coffee pots no microwave just a fridge. They are trying to update the rooms but ours was still pretty ruff

Very rundown, aged and unkept

I love vintage hotels that have been restored by loving owners. Had they invested the time and TLC, this place would be worthy of $200.00 or more a night. For all the good things about this hotel, it is a travesty they haven't restored it.

Everything was okay except very noisy Didn't like the fact that the restaurant customers were parking in the places that the customers who had rented rooms didn't have any place to park. Had buses parked out in the lot out in the road where you couldn't even see how to get out of the driveway.
-
Absolutely awesome staff great location right next to the beach nice pool yummy juice and coffee in the lobby
-
It's a great spot the wonderful view. But the hotel needs a little updating I want to leave. The roads are really large it's a great restaurant right outside
-
Parking was not clear, the manager was Jo where to be found for almost 40 mins, to yue
-
For the price it was good, but definately in need of more tlc. Would still stay again if we were down that way.

The staff was hard to locate, I had a balcony room. It took a gorilla to open it, the room needed much much to TLC.
