Goldmoor Inn

Everything about it was superlative. The best restaurant we've ever eaten in a resort/hotel and a tasty breakfast delivered to your room. Polite, unobtrusive staff and the forest setting overlooking the Mississippi makes this the best place to stay in the Galena area. While we like children and the Goldmoor is for adults, the quiet, peaceful mornings made it the perfect place to recuperate after a difficult week. Will definitely return. Shower and jacuzzi could use some strips for better footing (slippery). This is a very minor complaint, but could be a hazard, especially for senior visitors.

The rum was excellent, the staff was excellent and the menu and meal we had at the restaurant was one of the top 10 ever.

Property was beautiful There was not adequate parking. We had to walk through the dining room restaurant and kitchen to get to our room. We also had a few stairs (and no assistance) to haul luggage to get to our room. Apparently the restaurant has delicious dinner; however, it was booked. It would have been nice to have been informed at the time of reservation to hotel to make dinner reservations as well.

Beautiful facility. Beautiful setting. The room and the staff made the experience delightful. Blackjack road winds a lot. It took some getting used to.

Other than that, I had an absolutely fabulous stay. The fireplace in the room was my favorite feature. Bed and bedding were like sleeping on a cloud. Book a suite with river view if possible. The view is quite wonderful! I saw the inn keeper every day. He’s very friendly, talks to everyone, and truly wants you to have a wonderful stay. I highly recommend dinner at least once at the restaurant there. The food is exquisite! Keep in mind that lunch and snacks aren’t offered. Bring things from home, there’s a fridge and microwave in every room.

We loved the fireplace. Especially with October chill. We also loved the spacious room.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Beautiful location and rooms very cozy/comfy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

A fun unique stay, a good mix in between a bed and breakfast and a traditional hotel. Grounds were beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We had an absolutely lovely long weekend at the Goldmoor. The Arthur suite was spacious, and the whirlpool was a wonderful way to relax after taking in the local scenery. We had dinner at The Edge at Goldmoor--absolutely delicious! The breakfasts each morning to the room were much better than any traditional bed and breakfast I've visited. I highly recommend!

Delicious, above my expectations.

The view from our room was spectacular. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff was helpful and kind.

Dinner was great. The location and grounds were fabulous. Outdoor patio and seating options were very accommodating. The staff was super attentive. Felt the rooms could use updating. Remove the big tub from room and enlarge bathroom. A separate water closet is always fantastic.

Daily included breakfast were outstanding. Service was great. Room was modern and beautiful. Only negative was the wifi service.
