El Rey Motel

The staff was waiting for the "go ahead" in booking a stay here. What I did was enter my assigned room, and looked at the bed and shower. Very clean. As I walked out of the room, I was surprised to see the management waiting outside the unit for my approval. Thumbs up! My two nights stay was confirmed. Later, as I prepared to leave, I saw a gentleman approaching me. Without a word, but with a big smile, he loaded my truck with a heavy duffle bag. This is just one of the little things done to help me. No, it's not a big, new hotel. It's a well used building that is filled with staff who did so much to ensure my comfort. They truly cared! Really, I can't think of any negatives.

The only thing was I kept getting locked in , had a time unlocking the deadbolt lol.. No problem with the staff , ez check in ez out..

What i like about the El Ray motel is the friendly staff that helps with TV issues and with cooling ac. The restrooms are suitable and we'll clean, kept up with maintenance. Overall, it's a nice motel to stop for a few days.

The staff were great and professional! We will be staying here more often when we come up north! Everything was great! I highly recommend this place to everyone! Great service and great price!

Location was good…. Whoever gave this place a 7.5 rating musta got a kickback!

The only thing I liked was the nice bathroom I didn't like the fact that the hotel person went into our room and had the door open and waiting for us to go in. Was creepy. Also I didn't like the Roku TV. No local or regular TV channels. ?

The Family Run Business has Definitely brought back the Charm and Quaintness of the El Rey Motel's era of 1940's-50's! Simplicity and Relaxing accomodations were the key back then and it has been recreated. The facilities were clean and spotless and the Shower was GREAT! We will be back! Everything was Great.

The beds and the shower were great. The owner of the hotel was very mean and grumpy. I called to get a late check in as we were traveling later due to snow storm and he replied, "That's not my problem!! Now you're going to inconvenience me and wake me up when you get here early in the morning!" We ended up staying in Gallup NM at a motel 6 and started out in the morning again to AZ. We had no heat in our room and it was very cold at night. Luckily I had an extra blanket in our vehicle. When we asked for trash bags the owner of the motel was very rude and said, "We don't offer any services after 9 am, you should've asked then!!" The main thing that made this a bad place to stay is the attitude of the owner. We stayed away from him as much as possible to avoid conflict. His wife that cleans the motel was very pleasant on the other hand and had better customer skills than he did.

Easy parking ans Safe. But the entire property in poor condition. It is currently being renovated! The amenities are strictly very basic.

Inside the room, it was clean however it didn’t provide hot coffee and breakfast etc. As a temporary stay, it was fine. But to be honest, there are other better motels which even have the similar cost. No hot coffee, no breakfast and very poor.

The shower had lots of pressure! The bed was very hard, the soap was to small and the shampoo wasn't very good.
