Clarion Inn Grand Junction

Breakfast was decent, and the room and facilities looked and smelled clean enough. The beds were comfortable and the climate control worked well. The entire hotel is horribly run down. Staff weren't real friendly and the woman who checked us in literally lied to us - for some reason telling us that there is no shuttle service to the airport. The desk clerk the very next day confirmed that there is. The door to our room was stuck (seemingly from paint or something?) to the point of barely allowing entry. When we finally got the door open we were greeted by flickering and lights and a general state of unease. The room, once accustomed to it, was actually comfortable enough, but it had the feel of a run-down motel 6 on skid row. The following evening we were locked (from both keys) out of our room upon returning from a long day and had to walk around the bldg to the check-in desk to get in. This gave us the opportunity to see just how run down and poorly maintained the entire building is- both inside and out. The exterior building doors bang loudly enough to wake other room occupants when closing. Everywhere you look are clear signs of neglect and sub-standard attempts to keep the place operational. The whole atmosphere is one of apathy or ambivalence rather than a welcoming retreat. Very disappointing for the price. We will not be back.

Breakfast was invluded Didn’t get anywhere close to the quiet room that I had requested (lots of loud noise from the pool).

Enjoyed our stay. Clean room, comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere. Hot tub felt great. Pool a tad chilly. Breakfast had good variety. I would stay here again if ever in the area.

Nice older updated hotel. Breakfast was good but would have liked some seasonal berries or melon or fresh baked goods. All in all a very nice place to hang for a few days.

The staff was pleasant. Very outdated. Would not recommend.

The building is aging. The carpets were stained, and the cleanliness was just so-so. The photos online were deceptive, making it appear much nicer than it was.

The new Italian restaurant was very good food marginal service The no jet hot tub indoors that has been that way for 10 yrs but they close the outdoor one which is stupid when it's still 80 degrees every day

Room was easy to get to. Breakfast is always great. Staff where breakfast is served were great and kept all of the filled so we didn't have to wait on any food items. Person who checked us in was very helpful and willing to help out where he could. Only item that didn't work correctly was the TV remote. You had to take the batteries out and place them back into the remote for the TV to be able to work properly. Only a minor issue easily corrected.

We stayed here as a stop halfway through a long drive. I wouldn’t return. I’m completely fine with places that serve a purpose, and aren’t trying to be the kind of hotel where you’re comfortable for multiple days. But this spot wasn’t particularly comfortable at all. The beds were very old and incredibly worn - you rolled to the middle with springs in your back whether you wanted to or not. The AC did not work particularly well, so the room was quite warm. The provided toiletries were cheap - my hair felt like straw even after using a LOT of conditioner. There was no water in the gym or around the gym, including the breakfast area when breakfast wasn’t being served. I spent a bit more to stay here than other surrounding options because this place was well rated, but I wish I’d chosen another spot. We came just for a decent night’s rest before continuing a road trip, and didn’t really get it. If you want an indoor pool and elaborate breakfast, I’d say stay here. If you’re interested in comfort, I’d probably look elsewhere.

the restaurant connected to the hotel was nice but i don’t think it is associated with the hotel. the woman helping with the breakfast was nice. it was outdated old and dirty and the outside pool was closed and inside hot tub was closed and under construction and looked very unattractive with maintenance tools around it the gym was super weak and they allow pets and people don’t pick up after them around the parking lot. the carpet in the bedroom so dirty i wouldn’t step on it without shoes, the shower was moldy and it was extremely expensive, $250 for dirty crappy location

The room was clean and comfortable. They had a good selection of breakfast items. The AC temp was pretty cold when we arrived, but it was easy to remedy.
