Clarion Inn Harpers Ferry - Charles Town

Lukewarm to cool shower. Breakfast was unapetizing. Mildew smell overwhelmed us when room door opened. Desk chair was wobbly. Needs updating.

No hot water

We were given a room lower level which had a bad odor. Requested another room - had to wait for rooms to be cleaned. The second morning we woke up to no electricity. No notification by staff as to this issue - we had to go front desk since they were not picking up phones. Power would not be restored for 4 hours. Unable to shower/dry hair - breakfast was included in the stay - with no power we didn’t even attempt - prior day breakfast was mediocre.

It could be a very nice hotel, but it needs some maintenance.

The hotel was extremely convenient for our activities in Harper's Ferry. We appreciated having a good restaurant with music right on the premises. The staff was consistently pleasant & helpful.

AC in room didn’t work well

We’ve stayed at this location before. The location is great to Harper’s Ferry and the view is very nice, since it is up on a hilltop. The rooms were an average hotel room, nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Amenities included body wash, shampoo and conditioner, which was very nice. The bathroom is small but functional. The floor gets dangerously slippery when wet, so use a towel on floor. Breakfast had all the continental breakfast options: yogurt, waffles, eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, etc. no internet service from dining room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking free and easy. Room was clean and A/C worked well. Slight smell in room and hallways, but not bad. Dinner in restaurant was good. I’d say a little pricey for the stay, but overall good place to stay near Harpers Ferry.

Unless your intentions in this area are to relive what it was like to be an early 1800 coal miner, stay somewhere else. The rooms are unclean, linens are from the original opening, that I assume to be somewhere in the 1980s, the fridge rattles all night, the toilet won't flush paper with anything short of 4 attempts and get ready to live with the bugs, both indoors and out. The complimentary breakfast is shameful, it looks as though the food was all made a week in advance and left laying out. Upon check-in, feel free to count how many items at the front counter are being held together by many assorted types of tape. If you're bored while waiting, take a moment to observe the "G" in the registration sign above the counter and notice the drywall screws they used to reinstall it upside down. In conclusion, if you're looking for a nice place to stay in the Harper's Ferry area, try sleeping in your car, camping, or even homelessness before considering here.

Friendly employees, proximity to Harpers Ferry was ideal Room smelled dingy and air was heavy/damp, door lock was broken. Hallway dimly lit, elevator seemed old, the overall vibe on the floor where we stayed creeped us out. To be fair, we didn't tell the front desk so they didn't have a chance to turn it around. I'm sure they would have done what they could to accommodate us better

All the staff was amazing but the AC unit was absolutely disgusting in the room. The restaurant attached was good and it was super close to town. Only complaint was the AC unit which appeared to have rodent droppings or something that looked like it inside it.

Clean room. Shower made a strage whistling sound. Super great staff. Basic breakfast buffet. Parking was good. Pool was good.

Our single king room was clean, bright, and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good and the onsite restaurant was very good. The location was ideal for touring Harper's Ferry. I would definitely stay here again.

Convienet location

Housekeeping never came in our room with fresh linens or to make beds. Room wasn't in the best of shape for the price.
