We only stayed a night but I Lori room was great and I would go back!
-
The staff provided an almost home experience for the three days we stayed. David was exceptionally kind and pleasant to talk with. He helped us with the parking situation and made excellent suggestions on things to do. We would definitely come back again.

Check in was simple and quick. They had arranged for us to enjoy chocolates and chilled champagne for our anniversary. Beds were comfortable, and since we rise too early for breakfast, checkout was not a problem. Room was upgraded and the bathrooms was plenty big. We listened to a friends band at The Barn and I would recommend that too

Second visit for a couples weekend. Small little town. Hotel is very clean and well kept, Staff is great. Only thing missing is brunch!

There is only street parking.
-
Great location, clean rooms, helpful staff
-
There was no breakfast Everything was closed. No coffee pot in room
-
Loved that even in 100 degree weather the air conditioning could keep up and was so refreshingly cold! Many pubs and places to eat within walking distance. Friendly staff and great bartender. Charming. Go to the upstairs deck and relax in the rocking chairs.

Very clean and large rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is on the street but we didn’t have any issues finding spaces. There is a nice area within walking distance with some shops and a market. Quiet area.

This hotel is such a charming place in a charming historic downtown area. The rooms feel fresh and spacious, modern but with a historic taste. We could sit outside of the room with a beautiful look in a nice garden, enjoying the night break in. A very rare to find hotel.

I absolutely loved the Colonial Inn! The staff was courteous and even escorted me to my room. The room was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend to others and I will stay here again when I return.

We absolutely loved our stay here. This hotel is full of charm and fits perfectly with the character of this beautiful little mountain town. We especially enjoyed walking the nearby River Trail, and the location couldn't have been better—we were able to stroll to everything we wanted to see and do. It made for the perfect stop between larger cities, giving us a chance to slow down and enjoy the area. The restoration has preserved the hotel's historic character while providing a comfortable stay, and every staff member we met was genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was clean, though caulking in bathroom was showing some age. No refrigerator in the room, which was slightly inconvenient.

Everything was very nice.
-
Absolutely beautiful, clean, quiet space from which to explore Hillsborough and surrounding areas. The Tavern has incredible drinks and food too!
-
Surprising place! It was a great stay
-
Southern hospitality is alive and well at the Colonial Inn! The desk staff and bartender met our every need with a smile. Easy walking to eating and shopping in Hillsborough. We'll be back!
-
Beautiful old inn with nicely appointed rooms. Great for group stays
-
Gardens, great location to local restaurants and art shops. Old home luxury feel. All marks off were due to room very hot/no air movement. No fan on even though monitor on wall read temp and fan on-outdoor in 70s much cooler than inside our room. “Muffins and fruit” for breakfast with coffee were sparse for a place that has bar/restaurant and speaks of luxury and beautiful morning outdoor coffee/reading/work garden tree lined paths.

Historic old inn from the late 1770s, renovated, so some grace there. Made for old people. We were on the bottom floor so the noise from the room upstairs was intense. Wonderful shower. Located in the historic part of town wonderful place for walking & restaurants.
