Close to Hilo town, close to restaurants, shopping area. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Did not have rails in the shower.

Loved the unique Hawaiian vibe. Beautiful grounds and natural landscape. Close walk to the beach to watch surfers and see turtles swimming. Breakfast was better than expected. Hosts are extremely accommodating and friendly. The tree frogs and rain at night were magical. Would recommend and hope to come back!

We really enjoyed the covered lanai and spent a lot of time out there. It was nice to have the pool - we used it twice. The hot tub was okay - we used it once. It needs a new cover. Breakfast of fresh papaya and bagels was good. It took a very long time for the hot water to reach the shower.

The room was bright, airy and spacious. The gardens, patio and pool made this a private tropical paradise! We also enjoyed the complementary breakfast and coffee.

The bathroom was a real highlight – spacious, modern, and impeccably maintained. We also loved spending time on the terrace, which was perfect for relaxing. The garden and pool area were absolutely stunning and created a lovely atmosphere throughout our stay. The breakfast was good and provided a nice start to the day. Overall, a fantastic place to stay, combining comfort, tranquility, and outstanding cleanliness. Highly recommended!

Great location, far enough away but close to downtown Helo. Su was very gracious and her place was super, super clean and comfortable. Loved the breakfast. Perfect for us! Nothing to dislike

The property was very nice particularly the outside amenities. The bed was not very comfortable.

Quiet, clean, Great Host Nothing

The room was beautiful. Steve was very friendly and welcoming. They have a lovely lanai and pool area available. The beach is a short walk away. The location is a perfect base for exploring the area while staying outside of downtown Hilo.

Everything was good

This was our 2nd stay at Orchid Tree as we visited here 7 years ago. The accommodations were as welcoming as before as was the beautifully manicured and maintained landscape. The new format providing a self serve continental breakfast was convenient but we really missed the delicious, specially prepared and served hot breakfast that we had received on our previous stay. It was very special with a beautiful presentation and always delicious. It was one of the daily highlights for us.

Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Fresh fruits, bagels, english muffins, yogurt, granola, cereals, hard boiled egg (requested), juice drink, milk, coffee, tea. Owner accommodated a gluten free special request! Hot tub was relaxing. Pool was a tad cool for our liking- but our stay was in March. Property is close to town, but not in the hustle and bustle. Steve and Su were friendly, yet unobtrusive.

The property is a lush tropical paradise with fruit trees, palms, a koi pond with waterfalls, pool and hot tub. It has a large lanai with an ocean view, seating areas and a table for breakfast at. Breakfasts each morning had a large variety fresh fruits, yogurts, bagels, cereals, oatmeal,hard boiled eggs and great tasting coffee! Can’t think of anything we didn’t like about this place, everything was perfect!

Beautiful, comfortable, helpful hosts, lovely breakfast. Would stay again without hesitation. Vista out to the ocean. Only drawback is that it is a bit outside of Hilo. Thus, one is car dependent. But you should know that when you book.
