Fantastic historic older property, very well maintained. Great layout and superb location. Host was super nice. Comfy bed and linens. Plenty of excellent amenities. This is our new go-to when visiting Hilo. Highly recommend!

Ocean view, bottled-cold drinking water and breakfast are the best things about the B&B. But the room we had is a little too small for two people and the room has no air conditioning and it was hot to sleep until later night.

We were greeted by the owner who toted our luggage in then gave us a brief tour and some helpful touring suggestions. Our room was clean and comfortable with very good beds. The large balcony area adjacent to our room was lovely. Breakfast was prompt and very tasty. Overall a very nice experience.

We had a beautiful room and the staff was friendly. This was our most expensive room during our week on the Big Island, which was fine because the ad promised an airport shuttle and breakfast. Unfortunately, we got neither because they did not accommodate our 6am flight and we did not get our value from this stay. We ended up paying an additional $50 on top of the expensive room in order to extend our rental car another day.

We loved this beautiful historic home, its convenient location, and the friendly staff. Our room has a partial ocean view and was beautifully laid out and decorated. The dining room was super dramatic looking right over the cliff. The only drawback is that the cliff is eroding and the home's foundations are within inches of the edge. If the owners don't move the home back from the cliff edge soon, it will be in Hilo bay! If the owners of this property read this review, please save your lovely home/business!

The only downside was that the pool wasn't available due to volcano activity a couple days before we arrived and it hadn't been cleaned yet.

Wonderful proximity to the real town of Hilo. We walked into town everyday and only needed to rent a car for our overnight to Kona and our circumnavigation of the island. Sound of surf and peepers at night was luxuriating

Really great home base, wonderful view of the ocean and easy parking and access to town and the national park (-45 minutes).

We enjoyed breakfast overlooking the ocean and surfers. Our room had a bit of an ocean view and a large private lanai on the front of the home(great spot to eat our take out sushi one night) The owners and managers thought of everything! We would recommend this place to our friends.

Clean room, we placed our laundry in a basket before we went to dinner and it was washed and folded in our room upon our return, wonderful breakfast.

I was visiting Hawaii Volcano NP and waiting for an eruption few days. Lodging in the park and Volcano village was completely sold out so I need to look for anything near. I am glad that I chose Hilo Bay Oceanfront Bed and Breakfast. It was very clean, cozy and fresh! No moisture which is a big problem in Volcano village. Big room, very comfortable bed, tasty breakfast (fresh made eggs, fruits, bread). Very helpful owner. I was surprised how loud ocean is. I had trouble falling asleep.

It was so beautiful. The room was cleaned daily and they took great care of us. It was so convenient to get to and we were right on the ocean. They accommodated when I asked for a specific room as well as a late check out. It was amazing.

They picked my up at the airport and also took me to a nearby town at the end of my stay. I really loved the oceanview room and the breakfast.
