Hilo Bay Oceanfront B&B

You’ll be surprised how fast you will get used to not having an AC. Fans and open windows work, but bring sleep mask and earplugs, because coqui frogs get loud in front of the house and in seafront rooms you’ll have those screened windows open. Owners made us feel truly welcomed.

I traveled with my daughter and we had the most comfortable stay and we felt safe while we were there. The location is ideal for visiting Hilo and the surrounding areas. We fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean and frogs every night. Coffee and breakfast were made for us every day, including a fruit plate. We felt a little spoiled with the comfortable beds, the view, and the food.

No A/C. If that’s a deal breaker, look elsewhere. Otherwise a nice stay. Attentive hosts.

Cheryl, our host, was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. She gave us excellent local advice, accommodated our early check-in, cooked a delicious breakfast, and was always happy to have a chat. It truly felt like we were staying with a friend. The location of her home is simply breathtaking. You cannot get more oceanfront than this stunning property. We fell asleep with the curtains open and the windows wide, enjoying the cool sea breeze and the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below. We woke to a spectacular sunrise from one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The house is easy to find and just a short walk from the centre of town. This Airbnb is absolutely divine. It is spotlessly clean, has a wonderfully cosy atmosphere, and the attention to detail is exceptional. The thoughtful extras provided went well beyond our expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Infact, I would love to move in! Nil

Beautiful property with character, comfortable rooms. Everell and Cheryl were very nice and helpful. Cheryl helped us dry our things after we experienced a storm on our way to Hilo and Everell cooked an amazing breakfast for us in the morning. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic historic older property, very well maintained. Great layout and superb location. Host was super nice. Comfy bed and linens. Plenty of excellent amenities. This is our new go-to when visiting Hilo. Highly recommend!

Exceptional

Ocean view, bottled-cold drinking water and breakfast are the best things about the B&B. But the room we had is a little too small for two people and the room has no air conditioning and it was hot to sleep until later night.

We were greeted by the owner who toted our luggage in then gave us a brief tour and some helpful touring suggestions. Our room was clean and comfortable with very good beds. The large balcony area adjacent to our room was lovely. Breakfast was prompt and very tasty. Overall a very nice experience.

We had a beautiful room and the staff was friendly. This was our most expensive room during our week on the Big Island, which was fine because the ad promised an airport shuttle and breakfast. Unfortunately, we got neither because they did not accommodate our 6am flight and we did not get our value from this stay. We ended up paying an additional $50 on top of the expensive room in order to extend our rental car another day.

Right by the ocean! Loved falling asleep to the waves! Convenient location too.

We loved this beautiful historic home, its convenient location, and the friendly staff. Our room has a partial ocean view and was beautifully laid out and decorated. The dining room was super dramatic looking right over the cliff. The only drawback is that the cliff is eroding and the home's foundations are within inches of the edge. If the owners don't move the home back from the cliff edge soon, it will be in Hilo bay! If the owners of this property read this review, please save your lovely home/business!
