Hilo Reeds Bay Hotel

The wifi was iffy (though that was stated at the outset) - the people were very nice, particularly the night desk person and security guard. That hotel is kinda of a long term type hotel, not fancy but a pretty good value and certainly nice enough if your not looking for anything fancy (which we we're not)

The only downfall I had a problem with was the cleanliness of the kitchen. It smelled like rat piss, the shower smelled of mildew. Other than that the stay was perfect and convenient for me and my family.

We liked it despite it nor having AC the room was cool.

Location

Room was clean that was about all the positives. This place needs a complete remodel. Needs new beds, new furniture, new doors, new pool and add ac units while your at it. Won't recommend and won't be back.

Staff was courteous and very helpful.Room was very clean and had new vinyl plank flooring and bathroom fixtures, and we enjoyed lovely ocean views. Really liked having the kitchenette with microwave and coffee maker too. The rooms do not have a/c but the fans provided kept the air moving so it worked out okay for us. During the heat/humidity of summer might be a different story though.

It was good. Clean and restful.

We have stayed at this location twice so far this year. It’s an older property but very comfortable. If you’re looking for a low key simple complex this is the place.

It was an older building. It need a updating but the room was very comfortable, clean with great amenities. Although there was no A/C there were sufficient fans in the rooms that made it cool combined with the cool breezes from the ocean it was pleasant. The kitchen area was well equipped with coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, silverware, and dish soap. Bed was very comfortable. There is no elevator. The rates were very reasonable especially for a weekend. Location was close to Downtown, Farmer's Market, popular local restaurants. I would stay again.

Staff were very friendly and professional. Book the ocean view rooms. The view of the bay and the water is so calming and relaxing just staring at it. We were on the third floor and there no elevators. There's no air conditioning, but he breeze from the ocean, and the fans kept me COOL.

This is a great value. Very conveniently located. Lots of good eats in walking distance. The rooms are clean, property is clean. There is NO AC- people need to understand that. But I didn’t mind at all. Staff super friendly and supportive. But the property is a little run down. But location is the deal!

Emma was able to get us an early check-in on the first floor and we were very grateful! We stayed only one night, to attend a wedding. The free parking was great and the little dip in the pool was nice. The extra hour for late check-out was perfect! The floors could have been cleaner. The room had a fridge, coffee maker, dishes, and one double bed with one queen bed (what a nice bonus, we expected two double beds). Overall we really liked the place for the price paid and would love to stay there again, for a longer stay!!

For the price everything was good however the WiFI signal was bad. We could not connect to do work. They need starlink!

Quite and peaceful location, nice staff, a lot of things to do around. Highly recommended.
