I’ve stayed in many “non Hilton” type roadside hotels/motels that are older to save money. I know what not to expect. That was my goal with this one. All are usually dated, but some are well maintained, kept and clean. This one was none of those things. The room was dirty, the white duvet cover had black dirty spots on it, wallpaper was sloughing off, the bathroom was dirty, it had the smell of an old building that gets no ventilation and cleaning, carpets were dirty, walls had smudges of dirt? (What else?) on them…. No one was working the front desk and you have to ring a door bell to get someone to help. Which is fine, but that didn’t work. The one bright spot was a gentleman that worked there walked through the lobby and asked if we had been helped and found the manager that didn’t speak English well, and was seemed less than happy to have to deal with checking a customer in. We also had to ask for an extra pillow as the room was missing one - which was not well received by the manager. Fortunately my wife is a trooper and doesn’t complain. These pictures are very misleading. Do not stay at this place if you have issues with things not being real clean and updated.

Everything was good

The room is in terrible condition. There is visible rust, dirt, stains, and damaged baseboards. The walls are dirty, the heater area looks neglected, and the overall condition is unacceptable for a hotel room. This place feels old, poorly maintained, and unsanitary.

Definitely needs work in the rooms. Could see through the ceiling in the bathroom with paint peeling off.

The owner charged me twice on Friday because the first try his card scanner was taking a long time to process my payment so he ask again to try again which still didn't go through he said. He tried the 3rd time and finally the payment went through through his card reader. I checked my Capital One app and it showed two transactions pending which I brought to his attention and he only saw one on his end. The following 2 business day on Tuesday, my Capital One showed two posted charges. I called him and he didn't take ownership of the error to refund me. I called Capital One and they created a temporary redund which they will send letter to the merchant of the issue and have him fill information about whya happen. Also, the shower in room 135 barley water came out so my shower took twice as long. Veey poor maintenance at Mountain Inn hotel in Iron Mountain, Mi. Very dissatisfied customer. Diffiantly a 1 star hotel. I will never come back to this hotel and make business.

Room was clean and quiet.

Room was fine, location was ok, weird guy who sat in his truck in the parking lot *acted like he worked there* but was there all evening and night and was hanging out smoking pot with some random guy in another vehicle. Rather creepy.
-
I was shocked to see no breakfast at all just coffee in the lobby
-
Super-helpful staff, quiet property, and a good night's sleep.

The outside of the hotel looks old and run down. The lobby smelled bad and so did the halls. Hallway carpet was gross. The front desk clerk was greasy looking. The room itself was not bad.
-
Room was pretty dirty carpet was pretty tough shape and the heat registers were beat up and falling apart. Bed was pretty good. Fridge and microwave were pretty good too
-
unplugged tv, broken chair, terrible wi-fi, lamp put together with nylon straps to hold it to wall, would never stay here again

We were in the back side of the property ,and there were men hanging around back there. Not sure what was going on there. It made my brother and I very uncomfortable .We think they are staying there. The Gentleman that takes care of folks, also does the cleaning and replaces the towels. But did not change our bedding,we stayed for three nights.Prices were fair but I booked in April for our July trip..He tries too make it a pleasant stay You have too ask for ice. And hair dryer, ironing board & iron.they do have a microwave and nice size fridge. The shower was not great,no water pressure, and difficulty setting the temp.Beds comfortable, overall a fair place too rest.
