The grounds at Whitney Inn are beautiful and well maintained. We had a perfectly good stay here. The only reason for a less than stellar review is that we chose this Inn because my parents had previously stayed there and loved the room and amenities and wanted to have the same experience again. However when we arrived, it turned out our room was in an auxiliary building across the property in an older building without all the beauty and charm of the Inn itself. At the pricepoint we paid for what we thought was going to be the same high end Inn experience as the last time they stayed there, we were a little disappointed. That being said, the property and pub were stellar and we were perfectly comfortable. Just wish it had been noted in the Expedia description that we were not getting a room in the actual Inn building itself.

Old hotel staff was nice. Had nice outdoor pool hot tub and patio set up. No microwave in rooms

Fantastic staff, I am disabled with a prosthetic leg I was upgraded to a suite on the first floor at no extra cost,the pub on the property was super again with a very nice staff, I would recommend Whitneys wholeheartedly to everyone!

Great staff. Wonderful amenities like sauna, hot tub, pool, games, ping pong and multiple fire pits.

We had stayed here 1 night last year and found the Inn very comfortable and cozy, so decided to return this year. The Inn is under new ownership and they were very accommodating to our needs. Our group had 4 different rooms. Each is unique. The rooms are not large, but comfy-cozy, with woodsy furnishings and very clean. There are lots of activities and games to use, for example, pool, ping pong, tic-tac-toe, etc, as well as an outdoor pool, hot tubs, and sauna. The attached restaurant has nightly entertainment and great food! (Try the SHP burger, Caesar salad, fries/sweet potato fries, nachos!). Service was great! Continental breakfast in the lobby area was adequate to start the day. We already plan to return next August for our annual trip!!

The suite we had was outdated but still comfortable. The pool was nice. The restaurant wasn’t great, food came out slow.

Fun spot right on the mountain! Cool bar right on the property, with a game room.

Priced was fare for the type of room!! Staff was very helpful & nice!! Loved the ability to sit outside at various places to have our breakfast & wine at night! Plus inside, comfy chairs to read by! Used to live & work in Jackson & loved the location of Whitney's for taking long walks etc There needed to be a night lite in bathroom to be safe getting up in the dark & finding bathroom!!

Friendly environment, very professional. This is a nice little out of the way spot on a budget!

Walls are thin so a crying baby woke us several times. Bathroom was very small.

We absolutely loved our stay! We came here for our anniversary, and it was the perfect place to relax without having to leave the property. We enjoyed a great dinner, spent time in the hot tub and pool, and had so much fun with all of the yard games. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. It made our anniversary feel really special. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing getaway. 💙

Onto the review, the positives: staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. The onsite pub was great, with friendly staff and live music. The grounds were nice and they lit the fire pits, which we sat around for a bit. Overall, the location was nice - just 5 minutes up the mountain from Jackson, which was a good location to explore the area from. The downsides: The room was clean and comfortable, but the kitchenette area could use a sink and the coffee maker didn’t work. No biggie, went down to the grab n go that opens at 7:30 to get coffee, but it tasted awful. Just decided to get coffee out after that. The grab n go breakfast incredibly limited. Some kind of bran muffin, apples, granola bars. Tried to use hot tubs, but they didn’t work. We sat off in a swing relaxing while the owner called the previous owner to get it fixed. Eventually he walked off, no “hey, it’s all fixed” - we sat for a bit longer before we realized it was fixed - enjoyed it for a bit, but the pool was way too cold(not heated). Finally, the kicker was the view - or lack thereof. Ultimately, it was a nice place to plant to go do other things, but not the oasis in the mountains we were looking for.

This property was just purchased and changed hands, with that said the property is older and needs some work which I believe is starting to take place. It does sound like the new owner plans to make upgrades. If that does happen, this place will be great. The inn needs some TLC and the restaurant food needs some upgrades. For instance the nachos were huge but the chips were stale. Small things but definitely room for improvement. The mattress was super firm and not very comfortable unfortunately. I’m hoping for good things from this property and look forward to another visit.
