Whitneys Inn at Black Mountain

We did like the self serve continental breakfast and eating area, as well as the outdoor spaces.

A nice place located at the base of a ski resort. The staff was helpful and the onsite restaurant was great. The rooms could use a little updating.

It was great the pool, hot tubs, sauna were still open in September. It would be nice if restaurant or bar opened at 4:00 instead of 5:00. And would be nice if water was offered or a soda machine was available in the afternoon since there is no lunch available. A better breakfast would be nice.

One of the nicest quaintest places I’ve been, I would 100% go back again, if it was not so far from where I lived.

Friendly staff, and they had gluten free muffins at the grab and go breakfast! Restaurant next door was very good.

Clean room, friendly and helpful staff.

Staff was nice but the room photos make it look so much nicer. The rooms definitely need a makeover. The shovel handle pub was awesome though. Breakfast was comical.. apples and convenient store muffins. Wasn’t haunted so that’s a plus.

Beautiful drive up to the Inn. Pretty secluded and quiet, exactly what I’d hoped for. Love that it’s was pretty close to the WM forest, and not far from great restaurants as well. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the pub was relaxed with delicious food and drink. Lighting in the room was dark in one corner, and the A/C a little louder than I typically experience. Really nothing too bad though.

Great little gem of a hotel! We got a great deal that exceeded all expectations. The Lift Line suite was roomy with comfortable beds. The property has lots of things to do, clean pool (but cold!) and two hot tubs. The resort restaurant, The Shovel Handle, has excellent food and service. The location of the property itself can't be beat. A great stay, 10/10!

Nothing They lied and said they have 2 pools which they did not and the one was so cold I couldn’t use it. The hot tub was so filthy. The room was so small- it looked so much bigger in the picture- we couldn’t even turn around. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom. Also left out of the picture. Creaky narrow stairs everywhere. Very narrow hallway.

Very nice and family friendly cottage , nice fire place inside and at the yard. Enjoy the stay very much ! Love the pool , sauna and jacuzzi.

Everything from the room to the restaurant and all the amenities was perfect. Highly recommended.

The grounds at Whitney Inn are beautiful and well maintained. We had a perfectly good stay here. The only reason for a less than stellar review is that we chose this Inn because my parents had previously stayed there and loved the room and amenities and wanted to have the same experience again. However when we arrived, it turned out our room was in an auxiliary building across the property in an older building without all the beauty and charm of the Inn itself. At the pricepoint we paid for what we thought was going to be the same high end Inn experience as the last time they stayed there, we were a little disappointed. That being said, the property and pub were stellar and we were perfectly comfortable. Just wish it had been noted in the Expedia description that we were not getting a room in the actual Inn building itself.

Old hotel staff was nice. Had nice outdoor pool hot tub and patio set up. No microwave in rooms

Fantastic staff, I am disabled with a prosthetic leg I was upgraded to a suite on the first floor at no extra cost,the pub on the property was super again with a very nice staff, I would recommend Whitneys wholeheartedly to everyone!
