Red Roof Inn & Suites Jacksonville, NC

Location was great The towels smelled must be the bed smell like armpit odor the people staying there were like staying there for weeks or living there the staff were very snippy at you and they didn't refill the breakfast or overcooked the breakfast food it was all reheated microwaveable food most of the time it was burnt and if you didn't get there when they first opened up it was all gone and the staff didn't replenish it got down there at 7:30 and most of all of the food was gone and they were supposed to serve breakfast until 9:00 coffee was supposed to be one of those push buttons freshly served and it tasted like it was 3 days old. Inside the Hotel the pool was closed who could not use it even though it was a heated pool and the gym was just three equipment the outside smoking area were three benches that people sat on that were smoking pot most of the time there was an adult adam and Eve's place that was in walking distance so questionable people were always walking around the pictures they showed were NOT what was there when we got there . Pillows flat and I could go on and on

There's no elevator and if there's a chance lightning they will shut down the indoor pool.

Location and price August and the pool/spa was closed. We would never had booked this hotel in the summer had we known this portion was closed. Bathroom was not clean. The doors were not clean. Could clearly see dirty hand prints on all of the doors. The beds sat on a big metal frame that made loud sounds when you moved at all. This place could really use an upgrade.

The only reason I booked this hotel this day was to celebrate the 9th birthday of my autistic twin boys because they specifically wanted to stay in a hotel with an indoor pool to celebrate their birthday. The day of the pump of the pool stopped working and the pool was out of service. Nobody helped me to reschedule my stay or refund my money.

THEN, we had reserved a room with a jetted tub. Except they don't have an elevator & the room was on the 2nd floor. So they relocate is to the first floor. They tell us there is NOTHING they can do (no amount off or coupon for an extra night) because it was booked through EXPEDIA. I get in the room. I have VIDEO of a cockroach on the tub AND some other bug crawling around. POOL& HOT TUB NOT WORKING CLOSED. WAFFLE MAKER OR OF SERVICE. My daughter has a variety of health challenges (as do I). She got very ill from all the stress and vomited in the sink (didn't make it to the toilet). I cleaned up everything except for digging it out of the sink. I gave the young woman cleaning a twenty dollar bill to say thank you for the help. Getting ready to leave I asked if they could bring a luggage cart because I was in too much pain to walk and get one. WHILE USING MY CANE I TRIPPED AND a small cooler full of medical supplements and yogurt spilled. The two girls who worked there were super sweet about it, said "NOT TO WORRY. We can just get more towels." AS SOON AS WE LEFT THE HOTEL THEY TRIED TO CHARGE MY DEBIT CARD 45 DOLLARS. TWICE. NO ONE ASKED ME TO FILL OUT A FORM FOR FALLING DOWN. NO ONE OFFERED TO HELP GET OUR LUGGAGE IN THE CAR. EDIT: I POSTED THE PICTURE&VIDEO on Google

The first room that we were in, the bathroom door would not close because of rust and black mold on the door hinges. The staff was accommodating and quickly reassigned us to a different room. This room’s door was slightly swollen with water stains on the base of the door which made it difficult to close the door, but we managed. The indoor pool was the main reason that I booked at this hotel and it was closed due to pump failure. I asked the front desk to call a hotel that had a pool in your network and they accommodated us, again the staff was very helpful. The only portion of the breakfast that my family enjoyed eating were the waffles and the waffle iron was out of order are second day there. The lobby restrooms were out of order. The “workout room” only had stationary bike with broken handle bars, an elliptical and treadmill—no free weights. Again, the staff was very friendly and helpful but the hotel accommodations were “out of order” and substandard.

Check in went great. Rooms definitely need some TLC. Hottub and Pool were unavailable to use. We were not happy about that.

I grabbed this hotel for the reasonable prices. I regret it so much. I will never stay at another Red Roof Inn. Staying in a room on the upper level is awful. We are in our 70’s and had trouble manuvering the step stairs. We had to haul out luggage up and down the stairs and manage them every time we left and entered the facility. The breakfast area was constantly dirty or had empty containers at breakfast hours. We planned on a 10 night stay. In town watching our granddaughter graduate. We left 2 days early
