Motel 6 Kingsport, TN

I want to start by saying the staff was wonderful and helpful! We stayed here 2 years ago & had a great experience so we decided to stay again. Within an hour of being in our room, we saw a roach. We killed it and decided it was probably just a fluke and didn’t want to say anything to staff. The next morning, I noticed something fall from the ceiling out of the corner of my eye and thought “please don’t let that be what I think it is.” I looked and sure enough a roach had dropped INTO my bag! I hate complaining, but I knew we couldn’t spend another three days dodging roaches and risk bringing any home with us. I went to the front desk and explained and asked if they would spray the room while we were gone and staff was very accommodating and they offered us another room instead which was great. We moved our stuff and we had no other issues with roaches in our new room. Another thing I noticed was that the rooms are non smoking which is cool, but on either side of us, people were smoking right outside the door and you couldn’t smell anything but cigarette smoke even in your own room. I’m not sure if one guest lives there as they had camping chairs outside their door and anytime we would come or go from our room he would be in his chair smoking a cigarette. All hours of the day. All we could smell was cigarette smoke our whole time time. They also completely ran out of parking one night and we had to park at the Arby’s next door and climb down a ledge to get to the hotel.

Cleanliness of the room was my issue. There was a huge fur ball next to the wall right as we entered the room. The bathroom mirror and TV screened were cleaned with a dirty rag. Room smelled fresh

This place was exactly what I needed. Just passing through clean and comfortable place to sleep. Excellent price.

Room was clean and comfortable. Pets staying free saved me a lot of money. The TV remote didn't work, but everything else was fine. I don't see the point in staying at a place that costs two or three times as much for the same quality and charges expensive pet fees.

For the price I would stay over and over. With a bathroom update this would be on par with a brand new hotel. They could clean up the outside a little bit… looks like some left over handyman wood etc.

Found the staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Great suggestions on things one might want to do or see.

Really impressed for the price and one night stay that I needed due to a car breakdown. Room was clean and comfortable. Had a refrigerator and cable TV. Perfect for a one-night stay.

Good price. Cllean room. Good shower. No coffee in room. No breakfast. TV too confusing to use. Not enough blankets on bed

The room was dirty. Red smears on the walls and floor, moldy bathtub. The towels were thin and fraying, and there were no toiletries. Outdoor walkways were poorly lit and would have felt unsafe except current guests were mostly families. Ice machine hard to find, no info given at check-in. Pay $20 more to stay somewhere a bit better nearby.

Rooms are surface clean, but need a goid scrubbing. Rooms are very antiseptic and unwarm looking

The place was filthy. Dirt in corners of bathroom. Coverlet was pilled. Towels were gray. Stairway disgusting.
