Beautiful hotel, super friendly staff, with the terrace was open. Good in room coffee. Overall fantastic stay. Not as clean as it could’ve been.

The Hotel features a lively bar and great restaurant with a varied menu. Our room at the OREAD was very comfortable, clean quiet and just the way we like it!! we highly recommend the tapestry OREAD when visiting Lawrence, Kansas.

The last straw: yesterday, Sunday 09/13/2026, the young lady at reception refused to give my daughter a late check-out extension, claiming she had already granted too many (?????). My wife spoke with her—no improvement—and when she asked for her name, the young lady hung up. I called, asked for her name, and she hung up on me as well. My daughter and her friends ended up having to rush out by 11:00. So my recommendation is this: do NOT stay at that hotel unless you enjoy being treated poorly by the staff. I highly recommend places that go above and beyond for the customer—even when they can't help, you can see the effort to try. Not here. The young lady at the front desk on Sunday, 09/13/2026, has no idea what it means to treat a customer well. DO NOT STAY AT THE OREAD!

When I included breakfast on my room, it would be helpful to know they have a full breakfast menu and when you charge it to the room then its complimentary. The menu was great and the food was great. Also I appreciate that they served breakfast until 11am. Not many places I've been have done that.

Was expecting a unique experience here, but the inside decor was boring. Wouldn't have booked here if I knew rooftop terrace would be closed. No where to sit in the room. The bar staff was fairly un-atintative and the eggs benedict was made with canned salmon. Nasty.

It wasn’t too bad however the room smelled a bit musty and the faucet of the bathroom sink was barely attached. Staff were very friendly though.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, very enjoyable stay.

Roof top was not open during the afternoon on a Saturday.

The room is very spacious, and the view was beautiful. The hotel allowed our group to use the rooftop terrace, and it was also a stunning view. The neighborhood around the hotel itself does not offer many services. The hotel staff were friendly but somehow not very professional.

Location is great. Bed was comfortable; room was clean and quiet. Nice large shower. Staff were friendly. Other than in the bathroom, the lighting in the room was poor. Odd terrace outside room. Parking garage underneath—which costs $25 per night—did not feel secure. Hotel itself is designed with too many hard surfaces; feels rather unwelcoming. You can select Breakfast option for an extra $15 per person per day, but don’t believe that’s what you’ll end up paying. It’s served in the hotel restaurant and you order off their usual menu. And add tax and tip. So the $15 is “applied” to your breakfast cost; it does not cover it. Young woman server was great, though.
