We had a wonderful stay at this Hampton Inn! The hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and had such a cozy, homey atmosphere from the moment we walked in. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and everything was well-maintained throughout our stay. We were in town visiting my husband's hometown, and this was the perfect place to stay. We'd definitely choose this hotel again the next time we're in the area!

We came to Marshall because one of us has always been a big fan of John Bellairs, particularly "The House With A Clock in Its Walls." Seeing the house that this was based on was pure geek-fandom for me. But we also discovered a cool little Michigan town with good eats and nice walkability. The room was everything we needed for our short trip. Clean, nice, and close to the stuff we wanted to see.

The breakfast was good but could have had a few more selections. I didn’t like that they did not have a safe in the room. I thought all hotels had a safe. Didn’t like that.

The rooms were clean, staff was pleasant. Breakfast was ok.

The only issue we had was that they don’t come in to clean until the 4th day of your stay. (We were staying 3 nights) I have 2 boys and a husband that were swimming every day and golfing every day so they took a lot of showers. Towel just kept piling up. It would have been nice to have the room cleaned every other day.

The one problem was the elevator quit. Two days before that I mentioned to the desk clerk it was running slower. She said she would bring it up to whoever was over that. The morning we checked out it was out of service. We had a handicapped room as I'm 72 recovering from cancer treatment and my friend traveling with me has Parkinson's. We were on the third floor. All I got from the desk clerk was I'm so sorry about that. No offer to help us get our luggage down three flights of stairs. And apparently nobody took the warning that there was something wrong with the elevator. There was no offer to help us get our luggage down the stairs just I'm so sorry. We managed to get all our things down the three flights of stairs. I feel that since they were warned about it they failed miserably. I understand that things break down. But when you have a warning and you only have one elevator they should have been right on it. And at least offered to help us get our things downstairs. I think a partial refund on our rooms would be nice. As far as staying there again, probably not.

I had a handicap-accessible room. Right near the elevator. The room had a view of the back of the Hampton-Inn sign. Apparently the designers of this building decided that handicapped people do NOT need to be able to see ANYTHING. Bad on HILTON .
