Motel 6 Metropolis, IL

Room was filthy. Dead insects all over the floor, dirty walls like someone had a food fight. Hair and dirt in the actual bathtub. Filthy ac unit. Rooms reeked of pot. The top decorative cover had stains on both beds as if they were never washed. Fridge and microwave had spilled food in them. If I hadn’t have paid I would have left. Slept in my clothes, didn’t even attempt to use the shower. Pictures depict a nice affordable room but it’s night and day once you arrive. I’ve stayed at some nice Motel 6’s….this isn’t one of them - they honestly should be ashamed of themselves. Pros: the bed was was comfortable and the sheets under the decorative cover seemed clean. TV worked well and although the AC was filthy it worked well.

Put me in 2nd floor room when I reserved 1st floor. Couldn't change bathroom light because after maintenance guy was gone for the day.

Bathroom was filthy. Toilet was not clean , seat was never lifted up. I was double charged for the room and that issue is not resolved.

Bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. The room, toilet, refrigerator, etc were dirty.

As soon as I entered my room my eyes throat and nose were burning from cigarette smoke. I booked a nonsmoking bc I’m allergic and after ten minutes I couldn’t take it. It was so bad. I also pulled the comforter down and the sheets were filthy and smelled like they hadn’t been washed in weeks because the body odor from them made me gag and want to vomit. That odor filled the entire room so I opened the door and packed back up and left after getting my money back. Don’t stay here it’s disgusting.

I took pictures because I have never seen a motel room this disgusting. From the walls to the bed to the floors it was nasty l. I stayed at other motel 6 and they were amazing this not even close. Will not stay there again.

It was terrible and I would have left if I wasn’t tired from driving. First, the man working at night was creepy and pissed off he had to help us. Secondly, they had bugs. I believe cockroaches. I found five. We slept on top of the bed and used our own pillows and blankets. I had pulled back the sheets and it had black dirt covering everything. They definitely hadn’t been washed. The bathtub was not something you would step in without shower shoes. Lastly, the lock for the door was broken. We had to jam a chair under the handle of the door to keep it fully closed. I do not recommend. I would sooner sleep in my car next time. I definitely would like my money back. But, it isn’t worth dealing with them.

The lady at the desk was nice around 2:00 pm. Ease of getting to the place off the interstate. Ice machine worked, but said it needs sanitized. Wouldn’t use it for anything other than coolers. The guy at the desk around 6:30 pm or so was rude, pushy, and made it clear my issues caused him more work and he was upset over that. First I could even get into my room! Door lock wouldn’t work. Door didn’t even close all the way. I didn’t like the room condition. Hair ALL over the place, shower dirty, floor NASTY! Like didn’t want to walk around with my shoes off nasty. Sheets had stains! Towels looked like they been used and washed a million times. Mirror missing off wall in 114, which was my second room, cause 130 couldn’t get into. All the same conditions as listed above in room 114 too.

I stay here twice a month and know exactly what to expect. The staff is very friendly and the dispensary next-door adds a nice touch.

Air conditioner worked but not well. Sheets had igarette burns in them but were clean.
