Staff seemed confused. Room had no hand soap. They brought it, but then shower also had no soap. Had to request soap twice.

I can think of nothing to dislike about this extraordinary property. Beautiful, manicured lawns and gardens offering beautiful vistas and pathways. The main lodge and rooms are so beautifully decorated and the atrium and dining room are spectacular as is the food. Enjoyed sitting at the bar with a nice glass of wine and chatting with the knowledgeable, nice, young bartender. Staff is friendly and helpful all leading the visitor to a special experience.

What an incredible experience. Everything about our stay at Goodstone was perfect. The staff, especially Kim, was attentive, incredibly polite and the most accommodating. The room we stayed in was gorgeous and so clean. The bar was a perfect cap to a lovely day. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and the setting was unreal. Loved absolutely everything about Goodstone.

Our suite was so charming. It was clean, well stocked and comfortable. The food was delicious and we enjoyed exploring Middleburg. The only downside was that we visited Monday and Tuesday, and many businesses were closed.

Our family had such a great time here a few days after Christmas. The staff were fantastic and so kind to us during our stay. We also had a phenomenal dinner and were able to walk 50 feet to our room right after. We are really looking forward to coming back when it gets warmer to see the changing of the seasons and experience the pool and wildflowers. Our farm tour with Faith was awesome for our young boys too - can't wait to see everything in the warmer weather!

Unfortunately we did not get to spend lots of time on the property (other than sleeping and breakfast), but everything was great and we will definitely try to come back and spend more time at the Goodstone.

A couple of suggestions--upon check in, recommend property alert guests to issues within the cottage. For instance, the gas fireplace in the larger living area was not working. Would have been nice to use it during rainy evening. We learned that the fireplace was not working after a couple of attempts to use the remote, and seeking assistance from guest services. Walkway lights between the cottage and parking area are solar based, which we learned after highlighting safety concern to staff. We relied on our phone lights to get to the car safely.

A beautiful Oasis in a crazy world!!

Everything is first class and delightful. From start to finish, we loved staying here and enjoyed the delicious food. Staff was tremendous, and we look forward to another visit to Virginia’s hunt country!

It was a delightful quaint exclusive country inn - a real treat to stay.

A beautiful property with extensive grounds managed by a warm staff. Property is dependent on old power lines and well water. Downed trees from wind storms knocked out power to the whole property which consequently cut off ALL water to impacted rooms (no sinks, showers, toilets). Different impacts across the property and a lack of round the clock staffing led to confusion about if power had been restored. Power was out for approximately 15 hrs in the main house preventing meal service. Other parts of the property experienced burst pipes and fire alarms throughout the night. Despite reports that this had recently happened in a similar storm the previous week there did not seem to be back up generators to minimize impacts to guests. Compensation was minimal considering impact and cost of the rooms All that said the staff who showed up in the morning also expecting to have had the power restored were professional and accommodating throughout.

Absolutely beautiful property, Virginia Countryside at its finest. A wonderful retreat from modern day life.

Beautiful property and accommodations. First class service.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms and houses are really pretty. Beds are small. Avoid the restaurant. The bar is great and have a snack but do not stay for dinner. Extremely expensive and awful food. There are very good restaurants close by.

The meal was sophisticated and delicious yet complicated to order, not presented in a way that you fully understood what you were about to receive.. For example, I ordered Foie Gras and duck brest. Both were sophisticated and well done but at the same time, not as good as I have had at other restaurants. Yet similarly priced. However, I might well return to this hotel again and believe that I would enjoy it more because it takes a while to understand how to operate within the property. it is a beautiful venue. And everyone is nice. It is a few miles from the heart of the very sophiticated shopping area and that it's a disadvantage.

Quite, exceptionally curated rooms Pricey and further out of Middleburg than I realised

The breakfast was excellent. The evening before we could not get dinner reservations so we asked if we could get a take-out order from restaurant. "Absolutely!" Food was yummy. The weather! Mother Nature decided it was more important for us to talk and reminice, rather than get exercise.
