Great place but restaurant was closed

Staff was very friendly. Room smelled musty and was not updated in a very long time. Could be nice but needs some love.

I LOVED the location and the staff were amazing. The location could NOT have been better!! Would recommend but would like to stay in the main building next time. I didn't realize we were staying in the one-story annex building. I don't think I paid attention enough to that when booking. The room was fine but with a distinct smell to it.

Was disappointed how clean the bathroom was. There was hair and a hairpin on the floor with some other debris and the inside of the toilet did not look clean. Some of the bathroom looked renovated but the toilet was old.

A picturesque, historic Inn in a good location. We had a large comfortable and clean room, though the bathroom would benefit from modernisation, as would the amenities. A bit let down at times by some of the staff, some of whom were brusque, unhelpful or just not very proactive.

We didn't know that the "annex" rooms off the parking lot were separate from the main inn. We stayed in one of these rooms, and they are very no-frills budget motel options that lack the charm of the inn and village itself. Functional, but nothing special.

Location is excellent and within walking distance to many restaraunts and shops and the beautiful town. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the main building and the room was quite large, clean, and comfortable. Many roads converge at the hotel location so study the map to find the entrance and parking before arrival.

I guess I would have liked being able to get a beer from the restaurant after 10 PM? Really not much to kvetch about with this place.

Historic and beautifully maintained inn with clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Helpful staff and good food at the tavern housed inside the inn. Centrally located and easy to find. A perfect spot from which to explore Middlebury and the surrounding area while getting a taste of historic Vermont.

Very clean Nothing

Just a lovely place! It was quiet and cozy, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The staff were very nice and I had two good meals in the restaurant. I'd definitely return.

Stayed for a quick overnight to tour Middlebury College. Nice convenient location, close to restaurants and shops and easy parking. Annex room was quiet and roomy. Initial impression was the hotel was a tiny bit tired. Had to wait several minutes at front desk for staff to return so we could check in and reception person was all business. Annex room beds were a bit too soft and pillows lumpy but overall clean, dark and quiet.

This historic hotel is a classic - well maintained with period furniture; fireplace, books, and memorabilia in the downstairs lounge area; even an elevator. The bathrooms were updated with new tile and sparkling clean grout. Plenty of hot water.

The location The room was very damp

The Middlebury Inn is a gem! I had a fabulous stay there. We had a beautiful private family brunch in the Founder’s room, and it was literally perfect! The staff is top tier! I will be back!

We wanted to attend one of the Festival on the Green's concerts, so we decided to try out the Middlebury Inn, seeing as to it being located right across the street from the festival's venue. What a great inn and friendly, helpful staff! We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the Middlebury area.
