The bathroom was clean but out of date and in need of repair. Mostly the tube/shower. It needs an update.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and helpful. One thing to note is that there is a $10 early check-in fee if you arrive before 4:00 p.m. One person in our group was charged the fee while the rest of us were not, so the policy didn’t seem to be applied consistently. Overall, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. However, one room’s bathroom had clearly been missed during housekeeping. There was soap scum in the tub and hair left behind, so we requested it be cleaned again. Later, that same room experienced a problem with the shower faucet that required maintenance to come replace it. Another room had a fairly large hole in the carpet, which was unexpected for a hotel with Zermatt’s reputation. The property itself is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained, the pool was fantastic, the miniature golf was a lot of fun, and the life-size chess set was a hit with our group. The new restaurant has recently reopened under new management. They were still working through some growing pains and had run out of several drinks and menu items, but the food we did order was very good. I’m confident they’ll find their rhythm. We were disappointed to learn that the large steakhouse has closed, as it had been one of our favorite features

We loved staying here prior, however will not go back. The hotel has gone very downhill. The grounds are terrible with the ponds are swamp like and stinky (you can even smell it in the rooms). The golf course is in poor condition and the pool even worse. The water fall doesn’t work, water was freezing and several areas of tile lowered with puddles of standing water. The new restaurant Jacks is terrible and the service worse. The bakery was also terrible with overpriced food and gross sandwiches. The staff was very unhelpful in the bakery. All of the website menus are not accurate. The menu in the bakery was also wrong and they charged us more for each sandwich. The rooms were dirty and bathrooms in poor condition. So sad the that it has gone so downhill.

It’s in a pretty area. It’s just a little bit dated—a rip in room carpet. But overall it’s a lovely place.

Stayed in probably the worst room in the whole place. RM 111. Adjacent

The rooms were clean and well kept. The staff was AWESOME. The location was great. However, the pool had two broken plastic chairs that actually collapsed as we sat in them…OUCH! The plastic loungers were uncomfy for a “resort” that charges a resort fee of $40 a day. There was only one average size hot tub which was crowded each night; for a “resort” not great. The volleyball was full of weeds. But, the mini golf was fun, the carousel, the bakery etc were great. Fun place for kids but next time we’ll probably go to The Homestead and not pay a daily fee. Overall, it was a good stay other than the pool issues.

spacious room
-
Location. Room layout was good and clean when we arrived. No room cleaning after the first day. We were informed at check-in we would have to call if we wanted anything. No breakfast available, yet priced like a full service hotel. Seems like its not being kept up. Mattress was worn out. TV was old and small. We left after the first night after waking up with a backache.

No restaurant open just a small bakery and it was good

Both pools were freezing cold. The door to our room was so heavy that we were afraid we'd get smashed in it. There was a large empty space in our room where it looks like a sofa would go, but there was no sofa. There was only 1 garbage can in the room and it was in the bathroom. There weren't any USB plugs to charge phones or laptops. The bed was mediocre, very worn out, not supportive at all.

Everything
-
Such a beautiful property! Everything was absolutely exceptional! Friendly staff, room was fantastic, fun amenities all around, delicious food available at a few different restaurants on the property.
-
Absolutely not like we remembered at all, lots of issues, Key Fubs , hot tub to name a few.
-
Everything was amazing, felt like we were staying in the alps.
-
$50 nightly resort fee not mentioned on Expedia must be paid at Checkin, regardless whether you can actually make use of the resort amenities. Otherwise, very nice place. Why doesn't Expedia alert us to this?

Location, friendly, excellent facility A little pricy

Zermatt is based on a german town of the same name, and strives to emulate the same ascthetics. In this regard, it succeeds. But I suspect that, after Covid hit, it never fully recovered. There are empty buildings, small aspects that require attention, and outdated signage. Also, the spa is not complementary.
-
It is clean, but there are definitely worn out areas that need attention.

The gym is nice and I loved the included on-site sauna and steam room. The rooms were spacious and clean.
