Captain's Inn at Moss Landing

I wasn’t comfortable with the self check in process. I wasn’t aware of it. I must not have looked at the ad properly. The place was deserted and in a desolate location I did not like that and felt at risk, but the amenities were fine and the room was cute. It’s just not my cup of tea.

It’s on my list to return to.

Enjoyed our stay. Property is a bit old but it’s unique. Our room felt a bit cluttered and the bed had what felt like an older saggy mattress under a memory foam pad. Sleep-able but not super comfortable.

The room looks exactly like the photos and is very comfortable, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The hotel has a unique nautical, vintage-inspired style with lots of charming details that give it a special atmosphere. Everything feels original and full of character rather than like a typical modern hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place.

Uncomfortable bed, dated rooms, not very clean, so hot, and a strange setup. Wouldn’t recommend staying here. The bed was more uncomfortable than any I’ve ever been on. Not a good experience. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Noisy, all the rooms are pretty close to one another, you can hear everything, creaky old building

Wonderful hotel right on the water by the Marina, within walking distance to restaurants. Very quiet and peaceful with wonderful staff and will return again.

Staff was super helpful. I had to make a last-minute change a date due to a family emergency. They were very accommodating and very clean and super simple. Check in process took like five minutes tops. highly recommended.

Awful bed, no heat control-cold and damp, spoiled creamers in the kitchen, motel 6 is much better. No staff to be seen

Location was perfect and view from the room was beautiful. This is really the reason to come here. Room was cramped but the bed was comfortable. Fireplace was really nice and we could see the slough up close from our room. Also easy to get in and out. I thought breakfast was available and between that and no on-site service it felt like a hostel or squatting. Level of service was too lacking.

Room as described: those in the "boathouse" are all about the great view. Nice to have binoculars provided to check out the many birds and the otters. There is a nice booklet which gave a history of the property and the area, as well as restaurant reviews and things to do. That's where I found that if you take the hotel's business card to a local restaurant, you'd get a free fired artichoke, which we did, and it was delicious. Huge tub in the room looked romantic but was impractical to use. We had read the reviews and knew the bed would be elevated; not a problem for us but could be tricky for some folks. Nice to have access to the common area for a cup of chamomile before bed. Two comments on property maintenance (mostly aesthetic): lots of sparrow poop outside the upstairs rooms; no suggestions for a fix. Wish the giant windows were cleaner (salt spray from the ocean, I get it).

We enjoyed our stay at the Captain's Inn. The historic building was charming and the staff was helpful. We especially liked the little dog and turtles.

parking can be a challenge, but it is convenient to my destination
