Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mount Vernon by IHG

Breakfast was minimal with basic sausage links and scrambled eggs that looked like they were pre packaged I realize it was 4th of july so the hotel was noisy but there was a group of young men at the front door when we checked in, smoking and drinking, and being loud. Our room was directly above them the noise was distracting. Management should have asked them to move their celebrations out to the parking lot IMO was very dissapointed

Pool was cold, bathroom door in room didn’t lock. And there was some small things that could have been improved and maintained better otherwise a great stay. Great staff and good food.

There was a suction noise in the hotel going down the hallway, we had to put a towel on the floor in front of the door so the noise didn't come in our room...the gentleman that ran the breakfast in the morning was truly amazing and friendly

A great stop in the middle of the trip to our vacation destination. Comfortable, spacious room, great breakfast offerings. We arrived just as tornado sirens sounded and the staff quickly checked us in and gave us safety protocols should they be needed. We would stay there again.

Stayed 2 nights and Hotel was nice overall. Room safe didn’t work. Needed batteries replaced so I asked front desk if they could replace. Requires a screw driver to remover battery cover. Front desk said they would let someone know and we left for the evening. When we returned still wasn’t working. That’s when we noticed we didn’t have a TV remote. We were going to bed so waited to follow up in morning. Next morning told front desk about safe and TV remote. Said they will let maintenance know and gave me a different remote. Went back to room and remote wouldn’t work because it wasn’t programmed to the TV. We left for a while and told front desk about remote needing programmed and safe. Came back several hours later and still nothing was done. Felt like they didn’t care. Had to take valuables with me wherever we went because we couldn’t lock them in the room for 2 days. Everything else was nice just the service and lack of follow up.

Room was large enough to accommodate two chairs and liked the set/ alcove for coffee.

The breakfast was really nice. The eating area was comfortable and clean. The room had a slight chemical smell like some new plastic had recently been opened. We could hear overhead foot traffic which we don’t normally hear. My biggest issue was that the hotel controlled the room temp. You couldn’t adjust it. The fan only ran when the ac was running

Always a quiet comfortable stay. The beds are comfy, the rooms are clean and has lots of space. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. Worth the cost. I’ve stayed here several times during my travels as a healthcare professional. Consistently the same as described in my review.

No complaints other than staying on the first floor you hear the door open all night long. Not really an issue for one night.

Staff was awesome, both the front desk person and the server in the breakfast bar were warm and personable and helped before I knew, I needed help.

Staff was super friendly and nice, but the room was disgusting and dated. It had an odor and a couple bugs plus a dirty bathroom and tables.
