Hilton Garden Inn Nanuet

Breakfast offered nice diversity of choices, particularly the fruit. Taking a shower was scary for me. There were no other bars to grab hold of except to open the door. Once opened, first step had my foot sliding around with no bar to grab onto. In order to use the soap container on the wall, you had to reach through the water spray with both hands which I couldn't do for fear of falling. I then brought my own bar soap to use which worked better.

Room service needs to be done every day instead of alternate days. Staff very courteous.

The elevator was extremely noisy and made me feel like it might break down while going up or down. Although there were smoke-free signs in the hallway, my room constantly smelled of cigarette smoke. The entrance door to my room was also malfunctioning. On two separate occasions, I had to ask the staff for help because I could not get it to open. This hotel did not meet the standards I expect from a Hilton. They should either renovate the property or remove the Hilton name from it.

The room had accessibility features. The walk-in shower was decent, but the shower curtain was in tatters along all the grommets. The bathtub (with jets) was stained and we wouldn’t even consider using it in that condition. The sink bowl in the bathroom was cracked (and possibly a repair attempt had been made?), while although not a hindrance to its use, just showed the types of things that have been overlooked in this room. Blackout curtains in both rooms are also in tatters, holes letting in light all over each surface. Both the door to the bathroom and the bedroom are not hung level so both close if not held open with a wastebasket or other item. Very inconvenient to have to do this. The toilet runs occasionally because the flush lever does not work properly. And the toilet paper holder is not properly mounted to the wall. These are all easy/quick fixes that should have already been addressed before occupancy. We have family very nearby and visit regularly, but in the future we will not be choosing this location to stay nor will we recommend it to others. Staff were all very helpful.

Don’t go to this Hotel , it’s disappointing to the Hilton name , it’s old and needs refurbishing.. they won’t see us again … They need to put some money back into their business, this hotel ..needs a refurbishing

Breakfast is included with the booking; however, as it is not complimentary, a limited amount is served. Otherwise, everything is satisfactory.

The mattress was old and soft; my husband and I each woke up with backaches. The shower floor was slippery with nothing in place to keep from slipping. The toilet sounded like a small explosion when flushed. The hotel is old and not refurbished at all. We chose not to eat here, uncomfortable with the whole atmosphere. Again, a real disappointment with the Hilton brand.

Staff at the hotel were nice, main areas are presentable but the rooms were not cleaned to basic standards. Hotel is located in an area with many stores and easy access to the highway.

My problem was not with the hotel, but with Expedia and that experience was terrible.

The bath has only a handicap shower with two drains, one outside. the shower on floor. The floor was terribly wet after shower. I did place towels down but I almost fell whenI slipped. The bathroom floor needed a thorough cleaning. I dont think the rugs were cleaned in a while. The staff was nice.

Good location, easy access to major highway. Close to restaurants. Being near the highway, there was traffic noise, but that is expected.

Welcoming and nice customer service. I appreciate the fact that I was offered a small bag with 3 water bottles when I checked in. It's still pricy though.

Room was clean and comfortable Bathroom door does not stay open--had to prop open the door with my purse. Door is made to automatically close. There was no tea at the coffee bar in the room.

And for the cost - which is quite high due to what I assume is some proximity to NYC- there is no complimentary breakfast which was frustrating. Our family of five had breakfast elsewhere because $14 per person at a mid hotel is ridiculous.

The room was very clean and the staff was very polite and friendly!
