Crowne Plaza Charleston Airport - Conv Ctr by IHG

We were highly disappointed with our recent weekend stay. We originally booked a suite, but upon check-in, we were downgraded to a standard room because the suite's toilet and sink were broken. We were told no other comparable options were available.Unfortunately, the service did not improve from there. The front desk staff was unprofessional and dismissive during this process. Later, we attempted to order dinner at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant staff told us to order at the bar, the bar told us to go to the front desk, and the front desk sent us back to the bar. After being continuously misdirected, we canceled our food order entirely and ate elsewhere.Additionally, the housekeeping was lacking. The floors in the common areas and our room were clearly not cleaned over the weekend, as they grew noticeably dirtier each day. Between the forced downgrade, the unprofessional staff, and the communication breakdown regarding basic dining, we cannot recommend this hotel.

Airport shuttle service was on time and the driver was very helpful

The room and bathroom facility were clean and well kept. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again in the future.

Facility is not being upkept very well

The front desk and the house keeping supervisor that was working during the afternoon yesterday 8/16/26. I did not have there names but however they where absolutely both 5 star.

Property needs improvements. Smells old.

I thought the room was really clean and very nice, but it had a scent from what the cleaners use and I am allergic and there should be an option for people that have allergies I couldn’t sleep because the scent was so strong

Staff so pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was good, lots of choices. Kind of no frills. Room was small with 2 queen beds for 4 people.

Great location for airport needs. Rooms are large and breakfast is great!

I enjoyed the entire stay. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and the location is great. The staff is very friendly and informative.

Vent fan was noisy and door did not work properly.

Room wasn’t ready until 4:30 PM had played golf. That day was very hot. Had to sit in the lobby for over an hour and a half waiting for them to get my room room was fine just very dated. Bar and restaurant were open until I think 4 o’clock had to go offsite to eat.

My room with the curved sofa, and the glass shower enclosure were lovely. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a glass of wine and a bite to eat at the bar. It was a difficult time for me, and I was traveling alone with my little service dog. Everyone was very kind, and I was allowed a late ck out the following day. It was a delightful surprise, to walk through the glass doors and feel transported to a more refined Time.

It’s okay for the price I guess, just needs some work and updates. Maybe clean the pool once and a while

Our room was on the fourth floor meaning that we used the elevator to get to our room. Every time we use it, it would jerk and feel like it was going to drop out from under us. The ice machine was not working on our floor so we had to use the one on the fifth floor. Our room was clean and laid out nicely but the tub/shower combo was severely outdated. The shower head was on massage and we couldn’t turn it to normal flow. The drain in the tub was very slow and we stood in ankle deep water to dry off. We stayed there two weeks ago on the fifth floor and it had a beautiful walk in shower. We used the pool this time and they had ample towels for us to use but the pool was full of leaves and bugs, even a dirty sock was floating around on the bottom. We have stayed at this hotel 3 or four other times and it was excellent. I don’t know what has changed since but if it’s not addressed I’m sure you’re going to lose business. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and it was fantastic. All staffs were polite and friendly.

The young lady who checked me in was very nice and welcoming. The complaint I have is about the room. I have stayed at other Crown Plaza hotels before but none have been like this location. The metal fixtures in the bathroom were rusted badly, the vent over the shower was extremely dusty, and the shower had mold on the walls.

Staff at front desk was fantastic!! When I checked in, Kay Kay was so helpful!! And friendly!
