Nice location to go to the Kancamagus Highway. Historic inn. Quiet. Comfortable. Tasty breakfast. Pillows were too big and firm. Bathroom across the hall...not a big deal since there were only 2 other guests. Steep stairs would be an issue for some.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the Buttonwood Inn. It was incredibly cozy and we were made to feel welcome the moment we stepped in the door. The breakfast was to die for! And as I’m a huge dog person, having a dog there was just the icing on the cake! I also loved that it was nestled in the woods so it was very serene being surrounded by nature ? Not much to be honest!! Perhaps the internet could have worked slightly better in our room but honestly that was the only thing!

Breakfast was delicious! The property and room was wonderful. Everything was wonderful! No improvement needed.

There are a few little candy dishes around the sitting room space, loved the little extras. Exceptional breakfast! Everything was delicious! Yogurt and fresh berries and granola, banana bread, orange juice and coffee set out and then they cook a delicious hot breakfast for each person. A snowstorm occured while we were there and their snow removal was exceptional! Donna-Marie and Doug are so Friendly and helpful . Ready to help with whatever they can.

Great location

The highlight of our stay was breakfast by Chef Liz. As a culinary chef, she focuses on seasonal menus, and every meal was a refined with sophisticated comfort in mind. We also loved the warm, welcoming family who runs the inn—they truly made us feel at home. The location is perfect in winter, with a sledding hill and ice skating pond a short walk away. Overall, this is a wonderful choice for families looking for unique dining, cozy charm, and easy access to winter fun. Can’t wait to return.

The Inn was picture perfect for our last minute New Year's vacation. The Christmas village figurines in the sitting room brought us joy every time we passed by to go to our room. We loved our room, Diana's Bath with the private bath directly across the hallway. The room, bed, bedding and temperature were perfect. The innkeeper and their family were friendly, helpful, and terrific breakfast chefs. I have a dairy allergy and they were so thoughtful to make me a separate scrambled egg each morning from the prepared breakfast which my wife said was delicious. We have been telling all of our friends to check it out. Nothing, it was perfect

Donna, Doug and their family were very welcoming and helpful. They even suggested a great local sledding hill that we enjoyed with our daughter and granddaughter. Excellent breakfasts. Very comfortable rooms. All the signs reminding us to be good guests. I understand some of them are necessary, but they dominated the room and early communication about the inn.

We have stayed at many inn's and air b&b's and the Buttonwood Inn ranks in the top 3 ever. A modest and unassuming exterior reveals a beautifully decorated and detailed interior of impeccable cleanliness. The inn's kitchen was noteworthy in it's organization and spotless appearance. Breakfast consisted of French toast with local maple syrup, bacon, yogurt, granola and varies fruits all prepared superbly. No one left hungry. The common areas were warm and cozy with lots of books and games (and treats) at hand. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests. The owners were super attentive and helpful in every way. A high bar for others to follow. We look forward to returning. There is simply nothing significant enough to warrant a complaint. No place or person is perfect, but the Buttonwood Inn and staff make you feel that there might be an exception.

Reminded me of the movie " Holiday Inn" :) There is nothing I did like!

Warm and friedly atmosphere. A family like atmosphere. Donna, Doug are wonderful proprietors and maintain a beautiful and charming classical 200 plus year home and B&B. My wife and zI have been twice and look fotward to a third and.... we highly recommend.
