Blue Beach Motel

This was a perfectly fine place to stay for one night. The location was convenient and the room felt clean. My only criticism was that it’s overpriced for what it is. I’ve stayed in comparable motels near similar kinds of attractions for significantly less.

This hotel was very nice. Looks like it was recently renovated. There is a restaurant and brewery basically in the parking lot so that was a huge plus! About a 20 min ride to Newport. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

What a gem! If you drive by you might not give it a second thought. This was once an old roadside motel that has been lovingly updated by some young folks who knew what they are doing. Super clean and everything is pretty simple in the rooms, but when you need a place to stay for just a few days, this was perfect. Nicest folks you would ever meet! There was a great brewery/restaurant next door, West Passage Brewery, and the food was great for both dinner and brunch (if you are there on the weekends). The hotel owner has networked with other small business owners, so we received a discount at the brewery and free coffee from a little coffee shop down the street. This hotel was one of the closest to the Rhode Island Ferry so that was a plus as well. Next time we decide to visit a couple of the old Victorian mansions at Newport or check out the sailing activities, definitely staying here.

It was a super cute motel with a great location. I do see what the other reviews are talking about as far as a need for a sheer curtain or something along those lines for the windows. The pull down shade works for total coverage, but it would be nice to be able to see outside without feeling like you are on display in the big windows. Otherwise, the rooms are nice and clean and I would definitely stay here again.

Our room reeked of mold & mildew. It was difficult to breathe & we had to leave the motel after an hour. We were given a refund though upon checking out early.

The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Would be nice if they had coffee and tea in the rooms. The beds were not comfortable at all. And construction on road it was on was going on all night from 9pm to 5am and sounded like a lot of banging and a freight train. Did not get any sleep:(

Great option, recently renewed and fair priced. Room was clean, TV worked fine and check in was super easy. The restaurant/brewery next door was a plus, great food and service, on top of local delicious beer options.

Don’t let the name fool you. This hotel is not at or near the beach. It is along a busy and noisy road, so bring ear plugs. The AC unit was also crazy loud when it kicked on (think vacuum cleaner level) that even ear plugs didn’t help. Throw in the extremely bright “spotlight” level lights just outside the window that lit up the room despite the blinds and I got very little sleep. The uncomfortable mattress didn’t help. The sheets had some spots too so cleanliness could’ve been better. The bathroom is so tiny that the door scrapes the toilet as you close it, and you must close it because the toilet paper is behind that door.

Excellent staff -very helpful, patient and kind. Owner is currently upgrading rooms and our room still needed fixes (toilet paper holding not attached to wall, door hitting toilet as you close the door etc). Location is extremely convenient to Newport, Jamestown and Wickford.

We enjoyed our stay. We were running the Pell Bridge Run early the next morning and this was perfect!

clean room, helpful staff

The room was very clean and the bathroom was updated. The bed was softer than I’d like but that’s personal preference. We’d go back.

Need coffee machine and iron in the rooms.

Room is very clean and staff were very nice! The only thing we wish it had were curtains on the window as the outside lights shined into the room all night, the blinds on the windows were not enough.

We stayed here for the central location. The motel was as expected based on the pictures. Old but met the need for a quick stop. When we pulled in about 5pm, the lot was pretty empty which was a bit concerning. By night, it was full of folks like us needing a safe place to sleep. There is a frig with freezer and microwave. No coffee pot or ice machine on property which is always disappointing. The biggest win is the tavern in the same lot. It is bar food but by this point in our trip, we were ready for that kind of dinner. Wings, French dip sandwich and salad were great! We saw the burgers that others had and they looked so tasty as well. Family owned and friendly staff. Overall, the convenience made it a fine stop.

Very clean property and room. Only negative was only one hanger, and no replenishment of body soap and shampoo for a two night stay.

This is a hidden gem- does not look like much from the street but the rooms are spacious and clean - the executive
