This hotel was a great place to stay.

Good family friendly resort.

Everything was good the only thing was that the power went off a few times while we were in the room, but other than that everything was fine

Very friendly and professional staff. Our condo was clean and spacious. Our view of the outside pools and beach was impeccable! We experienced the breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner on the days we didnt want to cook or go out. Food was ok and the servers were great. All the bartenders were great!! I will definitely return.

Right on the beach and nice pool. The Sky Bar was very average and the parking garage was very tight.

The lazy river and pool were nice. The hotel was right on the beach. A lifeguard was on duty. Overall, a great experience.

Loved the pool area & closeness to the beach. The 1st room we were in there was hair on the sheets and in the shower on the walls. 2nd room was ok. 3rd room was a nice corner room however the stove only had 2 working burners in which I did report this for them to fix for next occupants. Plenty of amenities in the kitchen for cooking & much appreciated that as well as the in-suite washer & dryer. The pool & beach views were awesome.

While we were definitely facing the ocean, between you and the ocean is the pool, people, noise and activity that goes with that & DJs. I would pick a different resort for that reason alone next time. We are usually people who love sitting out on the balcony, watching the ocean and having a coffee or drink. We didn't do that once because of the constant noise, and people are also right there staring at you from the pool area when you come out. It doesn't matter how high up your floor is. It's not quiet or relaxing at all. The hotel overall had the feel moreso of a sports complex than a resort. We didn't feel relaxed because of the noise everywhere, and there was no level of feeling pampered in any way because it was all so basic. We walked over to the hotel bar to see if that would help the vibe any. Nope. It also had the feel of a canteen and was the most uninviting hotel bar I think we've been in. The lighting was turned up all the way, so it was blinding/uncomfortable to sit in. The bar staff was competent but clearly didn't enjoy being there. That's fine, but mask it a bit! We left a day early. We had booked to be there 7 nights and wished we had left even earlier than that by the end. Learned our lesson. It was not for us. But if you want to keep your kids out swimming all day, that'd work for you.

Wonderful place to stay

The resort was amazing. We had an ocean front view that was absolutely beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and will book again in the future.

A++++

We had front ocean view. The room was clean and we had plenty of towels for a group of seven.

Avista was a beautiful stay for our baby-moon. The room was lovely, clean, and the hotel was very quiet. The pool area was organized and well lit, the outdoor area was also kept clean and safe. The location is perfect to the beach and shopping. The room was roomy with more amenities than we thought including a washer and dryer! Absolutely loved our stay and will be back each year!

Staff could use training. I needed to stay an extra day but was told there were no rooms. So I packed and made other plans. On checkout they said there were rooms.

The place is in desperate need of updating. The carpets in the rooms are pretty nasty and need to go. Our feet were turning brown from them. No amount of cleaning is going to fix it. They need to get rid of the carpet. The outside area, elevators and stairwells were never cleaned while we were there. We had a plumbing issue and the maintenance and housekeeping staff responded quickly and were courteous. The staff overall was pleasant and helpful. The place is just showing its age.

Clean space. Upgrades are needed. Garden tub with shower; stepping into shower tub was challenging for senior citizen vacationer.

We booked having no clue about North Myrtle Beach or the area, and the gamble was worth it. While not a 5-star resort, the Avista has a great location and beach access and close enough to restaurants and attractions to make it worth it. I would recommend one of the ocean front rooms higher up the building (greater than floor 8).

Loved the courteous staff!!Especially at check in. I believe her name was Peneshia. The longe was great, the restaurant, pool side bars and DJ was fantastic. Pool areas well maintained. Will definitely return and recommend.
