Had the presidential room, exceeded expectations and the staff was very kind and helpful

Clean place

I booked a presidential suite, same as years past. Unfortunately this time I was checked into a much smaller room, and it did not have a gas fireplace like past rooms. I selected daily cleaning at check in, nobody showed up to clean the room, make the bed or switch towels. I called to remind that cleaning was not done around mid day, at 7:00 pm cleaning was still not done. I called again, a team of three housekeepers showed up to take care of it. We left the room to allow them time to do what needed to be done. They made the bed and left two clean towels but did not clean the room. Being a jacuzzi suite more towels are needed to be able to shower in the morning. I might look for other options on this annual trip, very disappointing.

I would like to see the rooms have a microwave in them.

Check in was 3-PM, drove from Burlington VT (4.5 hrs), coming to hotel around 2-PM, called at 1-PM from road asking for early 2-PM check in, not granted! So, went to Newport, RI, came to hotel before 9-PM, and got room with ONE king bed, nothing more for 3-rd person (15-yrs old grandson). Asked for help, called front desk 2x, went to front desk 3x, asking: please, help! Need two beds room, or extra bed! Answer: we all booked out. 2-people at front desk were not really interested in helping, showing they are busy, looking into screens. Finally, tired after the long day, the gentleman came in, and set up roll away bed around 11-PM!!, for $35 extra money. This should be included. Paid $369 with breakfast for 3, plus $35 for rollaway bed. Decided do not complaint, next time won’t go there. Breakfast prepaid, simple menu ala carte, nothing special, hotel OK, lower class hotel, but.. not cheap! Close to Foxwood Casino, but not interested in it.

I have pictures. First when I went to check in they didn't even have a room. Despite the fact that I called 3 times before I left the house. I needed an accessible room. Finally I told them I will try to make it work if you can give me a room with a roll in shower. Despite the pretty appearance from the outside, the grounds were unkept and a mess. there's no handicapped accessibility to even get into the lobby. It's pretty looking in the lobby. The place is in disrepair. Wallpaper off the walls in the hallways on 1st and 2nd floor. The rugs are filthy with plaster, garbage and whatever, the elevators when they both work, are dirty inside and the one on the left has mechanic oil spilled on the rug, that is a mess and it stinks. Now onto my room- 336. the bed linens were damp. I didn't notice until day 2 that the ceiling in the bathroom has water bubbles. Water stains, the back of the bathroom door was dirty when I returned to the dump on the 2nd day. And the floor in the bathroom was soaked. Worst of all, and the most disgusting was the dirty toilet seat, which appeared to be blood. That was when I returned after being out all day. I did bring each of these matters to the staff and asked for the manager. I was told the manager has been missing in action and hadn't been seen at work for days. I have a list of the issues and pics. I have a disability and it's very difficult for me to just pack up and find another place. I still haven't heard from the hotel.

I absolutely recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. If you are in the area again, I would definitely rebook.

Great location....quiet but near Mystic....good-sized room for price
-
Bed was comfortable, Shower was very nice, The hotel location was convenient, 4 miles off I-95. Hallway was dirty and it is doubtful if the carpet had been vacuumed in quite awhile.
-
Large room, nice staff - nothing special. Had to get bathroom cleaned again when we arrived which was done very quickly.
