Holiday Inn Express and Suites Chicago West Oak Park by IHG

Holiday Inn "Suites" are not Suites. They are one room units with a fold-out couch separated by a partition. Suites equals One bedroom; i.e., a bedroom and a separate entrance room. Holiday Inns' version of shrinkflation. My brother snores, he was to have the king size bed, and I was going to sleep in the "other" room, there is no other room. On top of that, Expedia labeled the room as a one bedroom. All bad.

Location was very good for activities in Oak Park and proximity of good restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok/average

FIRST DAY ARRIVED OUT OF 4 DAYS -NO HAIRDRYER AVAILABLE AND WAS TOLD THEY GET STOLEN. FOLLOWING DAY , STILL NO HAIRDRYER. ) ROOM WAS NOT CLEANED/ SERVICE . WAS TOLD NO HOUSEKEEPER AVAILABLE . THE HOUSEKEEPER WAS STANDING WITH THE CART IN FRONT OF THE REGISTRATION ON THE PHONE TALKING PERSONAL THINGS . IT IS NOT THE CUSTOMERS' BUSINESS IF THERE ARE NO HOUSEKEEPERS OR NO HAIR DRYER. WE PAID WHAT WE WERE ASKED AND SHOULD BE PROVIDED SERVICE THAT WE PAID FOR !!!!!! OTHER CUSTOMERS STATED THE SAME THING DURING BREAKFAST BREAKFAST WAS THE SAME DAILY SO IF WE STAY FOR 4 DAYS , WE GET THE SAME HOT BREAKFAST NEED BETTER MANAGEMENT . WORSE HOLIDAY EXPRESS WE HAVE BEEN .

The hotel is in an excellent location. It has a skybridge connection to the next-door parking garage that is super. Surprisingly, the area was very quiet. The only problem is the VERY SLOW elevator. Incredibly, amazingly slow elevator. If your room is on the second floor, it isn't much of a problem because that's the skybridge level, but any other floor ... ugh!

Great location in the heart of quaint Oak Park. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was really tasty for hotel style buffet. We would definitely stay again!

Maintained very well with very helpful clerk at the front check-in area. Breakfast was good. Our only problem was getting the parking situation figured out.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast was really good. Parking was in the back of the building but was easy to access the hotel through the 3rd floor.

They failed to do our wake up call. The pancake machine was a weak link at breakfast-small and anemic cakes.

Location, cleanliness. Front desk was vacant a lot. We waited about 5 minutes to find someone to check us in. Only 1 elevator. All cups individually wrapped. Difficult to open. Request pillow for pull out sofa they never brought, we had to go get them later. Lot of staff more interested in phones than working. Front desk ask if I wanted receipt or can he email it. I said email was ok still don’t have it. I called ihg and it will take 48 hrs to get it it they can.

We asked 4 times if they could change our sheets and never did.

Terrible experience it was supposed to be a place for three adults to spend one night while on a work trip and The staff said they overbooked rooms and we’re only able to give us a room with one bed. Consider considering never returning.

I would give this 5 stars except the window in our room was not soundproof at all so we heard traffic from Lake Street and people loading the dumpsters outside our window at 5:30am. 😔

The overall experience has been pathetic. We landed at around 11:30 PM in the night and drove all the way to Holiday Inn express and reached there by 12:30 only to realize that it rooms were sold out. Expedia has no clue of what the inventory is in the hotels and are committing to rooms without understanding whether there is availability at the expense of customers. One of the worst experiences I have had with Expedia. I’m gonna put this on social media.
