My room smelled like urine and the lobby smelled like a wet dog. Bathroom was dim and dingy, ironing board stained, A/C vents were full of dust and didn’t work well. TV didn’t work either. How they can charge $150 for a room here is appalling. The front sign is the only thing nice about the property- do not let the pictures fool you, the rooms are gross.

Spider in my bed . Key didn’t work couldn’t get my things and refrigerator was full of my food

Needs to be updated badly. Would have spent more money to stay somewhere better.

Absolute gem really cool giant picnic table in the middle of the room, which is great for kids are just getting work done. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The view is gorgeous. If you stay on the backside of the hotel cannot recommend this place enough. What a surprise incredible bargain.

Clean room with crisp cold A/C. If you’re in the area and need a place to stay I would definitely recommend Pier Blue Inn. Helpful friendly staff.

The king size room was not the room showed on the site. Although the king size room was spacious the room was not inviting, had an odor from the AC unit, the bathroom had mold, sink was dirty and the floor was absolutely disgusting. My socks were black! After showering we used the thin crummy towels for floor mats. Pictures shown here. Only upside to this place was the staff.

Clean and comfortable room. Very dated furniture.

Oh, and hot tip. The Tea Kettle restaurant across the road has a fantastic breakfast.

Very nice family-owned inn and the WiFi is getting an uograde. Beautiful view of the water on the backside of the inn. It’s located close to everything. Good cost.

I visit cousins in Old Saybrook annually and Blue Pier Inn is my go to spot. It’s nothing fancy but it’s a good value and good location and I always get a good nights rest. It could use a little sprucing up but I hear the owners are doing some renovations.

Staff was nice. Helpful. Upstairs chambermaid came down to remove the spider webs. We appreciated her quick response. Will not return on future visits to the area.

It was a very nice hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was convenient. We had a great stay and really enjoyed our time there.

We stay here at least once every summer. The room was clean, great water pressure in shower, and had a handy fridge, coffee maker and microwave. A very pleasant stay!

Rooms need upgrading, especially bathroom
-
The furniture was a bit out date and the linings where just fitted sheets covering the mattress so when you slept the sheets would move and you ending up sleeping on the plastic mattress cover.
-
Convenient location but old rooms
-
Very dated and no elevator. Room was very hot when we got there.
