Super 8 by Wyndham, Orangeburg

The hotel did not allow a check in & stated there would be no charges from Expedia.

All I wanted was a cheap room with a tv so I could watch the USA World Cup match and this fit the bill. Two negatives…high number of workers staying there and they were all drinking into the late hours right outside my room. I’m okay with that but perhaps the hotel should recognize that and keep workers on one part of the complex and put regular single night travelers in’s different section. Secondly, almost no grass to walk a dog…had to walk him way out front along the busy road.

The shower was loose from the wall. It was a miserable night.

Staff was nice and beds were comfortable. It's located on a very noisy street and the tub looked patched together.

The rooms were updated. I couldn’t say much beyond that as we left early (first time I’ve ever had to do that). The front desk clerk was nice. Not a safe location! Apparently Orangeburg has the highest violent crime rates in South Carolina. This hotel doesn’t have a pool open as advertised but that’s honestly not the worst of it. The adjacent hotel next door (outside entrances) had people doing drug deals in the open, some individuals made comments about our car making it obvious that they weren’t planning anything good. My husband is 6’3” and on the thicker side, his size is typically intimidating but these guys didn’t care. They also made passing comments about our daughters. My husband isn’t easily rattled but he wanted us out ASAP, thankfully we did get a refund.

Be careful choosing this hotel. If you're a single dude who just needs a place to sleep, you'll be ok. My adult son and I were on 12 hour road trip and pulled in at midnight. Got into our room fine but glad my wife and or daughter were not with us. Bed sheets were clean, pillows and mattress comfortable enough for us to sleep well. The room was rough. Fixtures (lamps, desks, chair, ottoman) were worn out, rusty, and in need of replacement. Bathroom was clean but looked like a basement extra with missing ceiling tile, mismatched painted tub, and very crusty shower head. A/C worked and we slept fine but not a place for anything other than to get a bit of sleep. I read other reviews that were more positive, but this was my experience. Front desk clerk was nice and check in was smooth. Price was very low so I guess you get what you pay for.

The location is great. Right off of I26. The bathroom was dirty, The noise was constant from the room next door on both sides. Loud knocks on the wall. Men outside loud talking. This went on from 10pm to around 8am.

Close to food The floors were mopped in the center of the room only. No smoking hotel and the room smelled like cigarettes. A couple of dead roaches in the corner. I kept my socks on and they were filthy after walking on a freshly mopped room,. Not returning. No bedbugs.

Location was busier than expected

Clean and well maintained. The breakfast every thing was frozen as far as the eggs, protein, etc. I would have preferred freshly scrambled eggs and better quality of protein. They need more selection of yogurt flavors and granola.

Clean. No bugs. Shower water was HOT. Breakfast basic, but not bad. No iron/ironing board. TV kept shutting off on its own. No weirdos hanging out in parking lot. Would book again if needed.

I’ve stayed many times at this Super 8 Hotel. It is always clean, has a complimentary breakfast, and in a good location. There are many restaurants near by and it is close to the interstate. Yes, it is an older and “gently used” hotel, but affordable and comfortable. Orangeburg is a 1/2 point on the map for when I drive to Florida, to visit family. I will continue to use it as my “go-to” stay over hotel! For a gently aging hotel it is exactly as expected. Yes it has an indoor AC unit vs. central, and the floors are showing some signs of wear, but it is a clean, well maintained and has friendly staff.

Super friendly staff. Reasonable rates. Basic hot breakfast was free. Room was large and clean. Pool was not operational.

Location was good I skip breakfast. Parking was a little awkward for the room I stay in.

Motels are on top of each other!

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good- sausage, eggs, french toast, waffles, cereal, coffee, juice. The location was good. Air conditioning worked well, a little loud, but cool. Staff was polite and helpful

Nothing, we had our booking refunded. Filthy.

Nothing Pool was not operational, rooms were poorly cleaned and smelled like a wet musty room, fruit flies were flying everywhere.
