Black Bear Inn, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Great hotel near Bangor. Very conveniently located close to I-95. Nice rooms and lobby and wonderful staff. The breakfast was fine, but nothing special.

Parking is free and there is a lot of space. Despite being right next to 95, you can't hear the traffic. Rooms are spacious and appear to be newly renovated. There are two sinks, one in the bathroom and one in the hall which was nice if someone was taking a shower you can still brush your teeth. Breakfast was good, the only issue was that the breakfast area was a little small so you have to dodge people trying to get food. Still I would stay there again.

We had a medical emergency earlier and a no refundable reservation. The admin was kind enough to refund our money. We came later and will always stay at the black bear when in the area!

Clean, updated, spacious room and a nice hot breakfast. Kind, helpful staff. The ice cream treat upon arrival was a welcome gesture. Great location right off the highway. Have stayed here many times on our way through Maine and will definitely be back.

Very clean hotel, easily located next to the highway. The breakfast is good. I love that they have ice cream treats you can take each night. The staff was so helpful when I called about our late night arrival.

We love this location. Clean, friendly,good simple breakfast. In the evening they have soup and ice cream if you're interested. Beds are very comfortable

Filling breakfast and soup available all day. Kids loved the free ice cream as well. Staff was very accommodating and room worked well for our family of 4

Lovely staff, good selection at breakfast, they literally had delicious soup & ice creams each night we were there! Easy off the highway & cute movie theater 0.20 miles away.

Also acoustics very poor if your room was on the first floor and there was people above... you could hear just about everything ok

The front desk staff were all so friendly as well as the best beds in the county. Can not think of anything at this time

Ended up costing us another hundred dollars and some change to have our third-party which was a child sleep. So we had to split the family.

Very quiet and very clean. the staff were super friendly. I have found my new spot to stay when Im in the area.

Very much enjoyed my stay, the room is affordable and modern, and is equipped with a mini fridge and microwave as well as a keurig machine. They also offer you free ice cream, breakfast, soup, and plenty of tea and coffee! Very much will be staying here again when I visit Orono.
