D's Beach Retreat

Location. Hot water was backwards in shower.

It was just steps from the beach, All was great

Location is great. Garage to keep our vehicle. Nice little area in back for our dog. The king size bed really should be changed out. It’s obviously past it’s lifespan.

The access to the Beach Coffee pot broke. Property needs better address markings. Garage door opener on inside was broken. All three televisions didn’t work. Hot tub had been taken out and didn’t tell me until I was on my way there. Getting in and out was hard due to restaurant being so close.

Nice, clean and convenient location and well equipped

The constant smell of trash cans immediately upon entering the apartment. The neighbors apartment ruins the view, fully loaded the trash. The backyard could be better (not comfortable).

Close to the beach and restaurants The stairs inside were very steep and narrow.all bedrooms were downstairs with one bathroom. We had to do the stairs just to use our bathroom.

Jacuzzi had leaves in it, so we didn’t trust the water quality.

There were plenty of dishes and pans, also. Extra fan was very helpful, also. I also liked having bedrooms downstairs, with the kitchen and living room upstairs. Nice not to have to lug suitcases upstairs! We had issues with the A/C, but I thought it was due to the heat and humidity. Finally called Mgmt. on 3rd day when temp reached 81 deg in the house. My husband is on oxygen, and it became unbearable for him breathing. Also, for our dog. We kept the thermostat on 75 so I know it wasn't due to anything we did wrong. The repairman came (on Sunday) and knew what was wrong. (Owners were aware there was an issue, he had been there before) It was frozen up, and we had to run fan only for an hour. He set the thermostat, and returned the next morning to check and see if we were still ok. My husband had to sleep on the spare bed in our bedroom due to the mattress being very uncomfortable. I had to sleep in the middle of the king mattress because the mattress was worn on the sides. It caused you to be rolled off the edge. (I only weigh 200#). They need to replace the king-size bed mattress. Bad! We were not able to get hottub to work, either. (It's a portable hottub, blow-up kind) Couldn't enjoy backyard space. An umbrella or shade screen would be nice. Do not walk bare footed or sock footed in the house. Tile floors downstairs must have been dirty. I walked from the bathroom to our bed, and my feet were filthy. I used a washcloth to clean them off to be able to slip on shoes. I couldn't rinse the washcloth clean...even with soap. No one next door, ( or at least, it didn't look like it) but, a white truck was parked in the driveway every day. A couple of days, we could hardly get car in and out the garage. He wanted part of the driveway on our side. NOTE: If these things were guaranteed to not be a problem in the future, this place would have the capability of being an A+ rental. But, for the fees charged and rental, it was not worth what I paid for our stay.

Great location. Has everything you need. Just needed a little TLC outside. Which I ended up cleaning up the backyard. I also think the coffee makers need to be replaced. These are not issues that would prevent me from staying there again. There were six of us staying here as well as a dog. We did end up having to reach out to the property managers regarding the AC unit. They responded very quickly and came and dealt with the issue immediately. I will definitely be staying here again.

Great location, very well decorated and comfortable. A/c might need servicing as it was hard to keep the upstairs cool.

Everything was great! The hot tub didn't work. Called the maintenance number. He had us to send him a picture of the got tub display and we never heard back from anyone to fix it . They shouldn't advertise a hot tub when it obviously hadn't worked in a long time.

Also, the townhouse adjoining the unit appeared to be a storage unit with an unkempt backyard.

I really enjoyed the property as a whole! The beds were comfy and the house was very spacious. I liked Schooners and the beach being walking distance. The property manager was very responsive and answered any questions I had and very quickly, even over the weekend. I wish the property was cleaner. We did have to wash our sheets the first night because there was hair all over the sheets from assuming previous guests. The property as a whole could use a good deep clean (base boards, walls, etc). But overall the common areas were very clean. Also I was worried about flooding from the rain. It rained one day and the road ended up flooding and we were knee deep in water. But that’s obviously no fault to the property owner.

The room was great and very short distance to the beach To much traffic very noisy and the unit next to me made the whole place look bad on the outside,lots of trash everywhere next door.

Such a great location for a little weekend getaway! Right on the beach and close to lots of nice food/coffee places and restaurants, as well as other rec activities. The hosts were amazing as well- we had some trouble with the booking and were helped immediately. Also, the garage door wasn’t opening automatically when we got there, and it wasn’t a huge deal to us, but we let them know and they sent someone to fix it immediately which was so nice! They had beach chairs we could use which was great, and we loved the upstairs common area/kitchen and porch! The only thing to really complain about is minor stuff. The main bathroom downstairs only has a handicap shower which doesn’t have a top shower head, so we showered upstairs, which was totally fine since it was just us 2, but I could see that being frustrating with a bigger family. Also, since we only stayed 3 days we had everything we needed, but we would have needed to get more supplies if we stayed longer (toilet paper, laundry pods, etc.) Like I said, only minor things!

Location, location, location. Easy check in and easy check out. Clean upon arrival. Extremely great location and proximity to the beach!! Schooners is literally across the street. I do see where peak season might pose some issues with vehicle and foot traffic, but for our trip it was not an issue. The downstairs tub is (I believe) for handicap use—not being handicapped it took a bit to figure it out and ultimately used the upstairs shower (not a big deal). The king bed needs a new mattress—the current one is quite used—there were obvious indentations when we arrived (also not a deterrent from staying here again). But did I mention the location could NOT be better—the ultimate worst thing was that we couldn’t stay longer.
