Candlewood Suites Pearland by IHG

Although property was being renovated, when we got out of our suv, their was screws all on the parking space next to us, the hallways was very hot and humid and also had Sheetrock dust and partials on the floor. Upon entering our room, went to the restroom first thing we saw was two roaches, so we went back down to the front desk, and told the fine older gentleman about what we encountered, he put us in a different room, which we really appreciated. We went up to our second room, and again encountered the same thing, but we was just to exhausted to go back down, and move our luggage and change rooms. So the next morning when we woke up, went to the fridg, and they laid a big big cockroach, disgusting. When we checked out, we brought it to the lady’s attention as well as the night before experience, she apologized and said she would speak to her MGR when he came in, and get back with us. We never heard anything back from her. So our experience was not great at all. Very disappointed!😢

My stay was good

The hotel was dirty, filthy, and smelled like smoke. The toilet did not flush. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was an roach infestation when informed staff took the excusof renovation.

The room was but the TV controller did not work well. Had no trouble with my dog. The staff was good no issues. Did not use the pool.

Hallway smelt like old Vegas, ice machine was broke, hot water in the shower didn't work had to change rooms. Just not very well taken care off. Will be staying somewhere else next time.

All the rooms have mold and roaches. Staff doesn’t care. The only good thing is the older African American man that works behind the counter. He was great and very nice. The owners however, rude and condescending.

There was supposed to be a bathtub and a shower in the handicap room. Only a shower with a seat.

My experience was not what I would expect from an IHG hotel. From the moment I walked in the door I was not pleased. First off let me state that the Hotel is being renovated, and I can understand that, but the odor was so strong. It was a musty, mildew smell that was very strong. The front desk person had no customer service skills. What I saw out on the website when I booked this room from a third part source which was Hotels. com is not what I got, and I have never had this problem before using Hotels.com. I received a handicapped room which was not what I saw on the website when I booked my room. I saw a standard walk-in shower not a handicapped one. I've already left a more detailed review with the IHG.

However, only 2 bath towels for 2 people the entire week, Sunday to Friday? My room was fine otherwise, but my coworkers room had leakage when it rained. They didn’t offer to move him to another room even though the hotel was half empty. And when the staff went in to clean up the water, they didn’t even change the bedding which had gotten dampened.

My room smelled like bug spray. I asked to be moved because it was giving me a headache and I was told that I couldn't be moved. And for the price I paid I was very disappointed.

Facility is old and needs renovating, but the bed was comfortable and it was clean. No extras like breakfast or coffee, we couldn’t find an ice machine either- but we were only there for a short night so it was fine.

The only thing I liked about this location was the gentleman at the front desk. He was very patient and helpful. The hotel does not look like it does on booking. The room definitely did not look like it does. We didn’t even stay at the location. Soon as you walked into the hotel it smelled of water damage and mildew and we were told it was due to construction. It felt wet inside the building. The room had two lights on the wall that did not work and the tv was significantly smaller than what the picture shows. The beds did not have the skirts on them and the carpet had been torn up. The room also carried the same smell as the lobby did and this room was on the 3rd floor. We have 2 small children (ages 2 and 7months) and could not stay due to the smell and lack of cleanliness. Overall, this hotel is misleading as the pictures show a significantly updated and clean hotel versus real life. What’s worse is we have not or cannot get a refund after paying full price online which we feel is not fair due to the misleading booking advertisement of the room. I would not recommend staying here until the hotel is completely remodeled and updated.

The worst hotel almost ever. The smell is horrible. The towels and shower curtain were stained. The dishwasher was visibly rusted. The carpet was lifted. It was unbelievable this is open and available. Apparently we didn’t know fifa game was in town and we did not know everything good would be booked. This was so unfortunate since it was my Father’s Day trip to my dad. Memorable for all the wrong reasons. The ac even squeaked /rattled when it shut off. This hotel has had a fake remodel. It’s painted to cover the horrible Maintenance. Ugh so so horrible. But that smell!!!! I was gagging. No joke. Do not recommend.

This property was good but under renovations

Hotel has bed bugs, smoke alarm going off for no reason, smelled, outdated. Checked out early and left.
