Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Port Arthur

Breakfast was okay. Gravy was cold. Disappointed in not being able to receive additional towels. Had 5 people staying in room but only received 3 towels. When asking for more were told they were in the wash. Booked room for 5 so thought would receive towels for 5.

The elevator is in dire need of repair/updates. The flooring is in really poor shape and is missing some buttons. The A/C unit in the room was also very outdated and missing buttons as well. Also produced a not great smell when on. The sink in our room drained very slowly and the faucet was loose and would constantly turn to the side. The refrigerator in our room opened to the wrong side which made it a little cumbersome when using. Room service never came to clean our room during our stay. Breakfast was not kept warm and the scrambled eggs were questionable. They need a microwave by the breakfast area if they aren’t going to keep the food warm. All the machines in the gym were out of order. The nightshift front desk person wasn’t aware if we could have 2 keys even though 2 of use were checking in, so we had to wait until the next morning. My original key stopped working when they gave us an additional key the next morning which I didn’t find out until we got back from our outing late in the evening. I also did the pre-check in online but still had to go through the check in process when I arrived anyway, so it was a waste of time. PROS: The property was kept clean. Overall, the room was nicely updated aside from the very old A/C unit. I wish the kingsize bed had kingsize pillows, however. Morning staff was nice and helpful. It was a decent place to lay our heads, but I can’t imagine staying here again if I were to ever come back to Port Arthur.

Location was great. The customer service was horrible. The bathroom was dirty. The beds are uncomfortable.

Last minute reservation. Was very pleased. We will stay there again.

What can I say, it's the crown jewel of Port Neches. Rooms provide ample space and the breakfast....just glorious!

The suite was spacious and comfortable, with a full kitchen and living area that made it feel more like a small apartment than a hotel room. The bed was very comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well cared for. Housekeeping and maintenance clearly stay on top of things. The staff was outstanding — friendly, professional, and quick to help with anything needed. They made the stay feel easy and stress-free, which is huge when traveling for work or staying multiple days. The property itself is quiet, safe, and relaxing. It’s a great place to unwind after a long day, while still being close to everything you need in the area. Overall, this stay felt more like a high-end coastal destination hotel than a typical extended-stay property. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Port Arthur for business or long-term stays.

Quite Pool was nasty the whole reason was to go swimming

I didn’t like the fact that I was put in a room that housekeeping had previously reported to the front desk that there was a problem with the toilet. I didn’t like being told to use the restroom on the first floor common area, which had no hand soap in the dispenser or paper towels to dry my hands. I didn’t like the way the staff handled the situation. I didn’t like coming back to the room expecting the repair to be completed and not having it done or any idea of when it would be done.

Was very upset to find after calling 2 days befor our trip and was told pool was clean and ready (wasn’t ) green and dirty and when asked for towels was informed there wasn’t any I have 4 guest and 3 towels ! I drove 2 1/2 hours because I loved the service I had previous visits to the same place . I was very upset and not impressed about the service

Housekeepers also took our towels after the first time they cleaned the room, and when we went to get more the next morning for a shower, the desk said they couldn’t get us any until housekeepers came in at 9. We had to use hand towels.

Excellent overall but breakfast was not very good. Stale Bagels and Scrambled eggs were not good.

Property was clean, staff was nice and the only gripe would be the pillows were too overstuffed. So hard on my neck.

Nice property and front staff was super nice

The hotel was clean and the room was too. The only concern i have was when the maid service left she did not leave us any wash clothes there was only one in the room. My husband went down to the desk and asked for a couple more since there was only one. When we arrived home this evening he was looking at the charges and there was like a $87 charge pending on our statements for a 2 pk of something. I am wondering if this charge is those wash clothes. If this charge goes through i will be calling for an explanation to why this is on our CC statement.
