Motel 6 Ridgecrest, CA - China Lake

No one attending in the lobby when we arrived. No towels provided, and placed in smoking instead of non smoking room. Some of the sheets had blood stains.

The sheets on both bed were literally dirty, and there was trash in the trashcan. There were no towels at all in the room. I don’t think they had finished cleaning the room. Thank god, the air-conditioning worked as it was 100° out at 11 pm. All this being said, the room was very inexpensive. As a solo female traveler, I would describe this hotel as pretty sketchy.

The front desk clerk did not allow me to talk to the manger despite my numerous requests. Instead, he called the manager on his cell phone on speaker, but did not let me talk to the manager. The desk cleark told me to email the manager. There was no hot water -It was shut off before my check in. No ice-the machine was not working. There was a large bug in my room that ran into a hole by the door. The smoke detector had been removed. The digital clock was broken and flashed all night. The refrigerator leaked water onto the floor. A light bulb for a desk lamp was burned out. The towel rack crossbar was missing leaving the fixture with sharp edges. The front desk clerk initially refused to provide me with a detailed receipt. I did eventually receive one after confronting him about an undisclosed hotel service fee. The front desk clerk offered to refund my money and let me go elsewhere when I was first dissatisfied with the receipt but after he had charged my credit card. He also offered to change my room. I declined. I had personal reasons for staying at this hotel.

The room was dirty and stinky. We were discussed getting into bed

They were going through a new Television provider for 2 weeks no tv. No frills in this place. Just a room but great air conditioning.

The motel 6 tvs were down so they sent me to sister location at Clarion. Was very nice and comfortable, esp for 2 star!

There was no one there to check me in.

No one available for check in, someone came and said owners were out so I would have to come back but gave me a key to a room. That room had 3 people inside of it who quickly left when I arrived. Room has no sheets, pillows, blankets or towels. Bathroom TP holder and towel rack were destroyed. I had no way to communicate with the owners. I left promptly without staying the night. My sense is that it is a meth hangout. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

Nothing Room was full of flies so had to move to another room; no ice machine (don't think it ever worked); very smelly!!!

Crackheads everywhere

I have stayed at Motel 6 a few times across the years, and this one looked so bad that we didn't even stay, walking out on our paid reservation. I didn't feel safe, and the room wasn't even ready two hours after check-in time. There was no way to keep an eye on your vehicle and I wouldn't be able to sleep, worrying it would be broken into. We ended up booking another property.

The bed wasn't made. They told us to wait a few minutes so they could make the bed so we went and got snacks went back and it still wasn't done. It did have sheets so we just went in. Since it was already 10 pm we were tired and just needed sleep. No towels were stocked and I had to go to the front desk for those as well. The TV never works and there were 2 microwaves not plugged in and the fridge was outside the room defrosting.

Tbh all bad I'm sorry

60 minutes of free WiFi then you have to disconnect and reconnect.

This is more of a homeless shelter than a viable business. The property is poorly maintained. No one is at the front desk and much of the electrical lighting didn’t work. Lots of people smoking and meandering around the property at all hours of the day. Room smelled of cigarettes and lots of cigarette burns in the bedding. No one at the front desk to help with issues. This property should not be allowed to advertise on travel sites as this is not a viable option for most travelers looking for a room.

There weren’t any towels in the room

The room was dirty: there had been sleeping someone in, before we got the key. We refused this room and there was no other room available, so we had to go to another hotel. We are still waiting on our refund for the room. I can't recommand this hotel to anyone😡
