Hotel Royal Oak

This is a unique boutique motel. It is located on a noisy, busy street with lots of sirens 24/7. The staff is wonderful. Breakfast is bare minimum but it does satisfy the morning hunger.

Location was great and the staff were friendly, the check-in was easy. The room smelled so bad like stale smoke! I saw cleaning staff using a lint roller to clean the carpet in another room-that’s disgusting if they don’t vacuum.i felt like our room was dirty just knowing they don’t vacuum. The room was far more outdated than the photos online show and the bed was way too soft.

Very cool retro 60’s two story hotel. Very well run with a nice space outside to sit and a bar in the lobby. We will stay here again.

The smoking area is in the parking lot at the entrance where traffic is going in and out while the bar has an enclosed outside area that has plenty of space for people to smoke while they have cocktails and it's guarded by a perimeter to protect you from the incoming and outgoing traffic.

Ac in room was broken yet they still put us in there. They did move us though

The hotel itself and the staff there were wonderful. This is a truly unique place with cool people running it. I'll remember this hotel for a long time. They seem to be experiencing some issues with their housecleaning, and my room was not well cleaned. They are taking steps to remedy it.

The hotel was adorable. Very geared for hanging out, almost as a destination and a great place to gather with friends. Breakfast was typical muffins, bagels, and coffee. It's an old motel, so any expectations of fancy should not be expected though they have done a good job of updating. Staff was very helpful and friendly and you could tell that they took pride in the hotel. My main gripe was that we never had housekeeping during our stay (and there were no signs stating that we would need to ask for any). It was a cute experience.

The outdoor area is fun and hip, the record room is super cool and this place has a cute little bar open till 2. Nothing beats it. ( also seen local artist shooting a music video in the parking lot)Super neat. Im in search for a good bathtub.

This place was exactly what I needed for an extended weekend. Amazing vibes and friendly staff that were happy to assist with any questions. Bed and pillows were super comfy. Shower head pressure was top notch! Highly enjoyed the on-site bar and common area game rooms and patios. Will definitely stay here again next time I am in town!

I like the overall vibe of not only the facilities, but the staff. Everything was great.

Always a great place for us Metro Detroit’s to do a staycation. Walkable to Shops and all kinds of great restaurants in downtown RoyalOak. What a great date night for myself and my partner.

Clean, bright, and comfortable. Exactly what I needed and so convenient to dining and other necessities.
