Comfort Inn & Suites Northeast - Gateway

The hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast had such a great selection and was awesome, both for adults and the kids. The hotel seems older and seemed to be in the process of possibly updated/making improvements. They were constantly cleaning while I was there, carpets/furniture seemed to be going through a deep clean. The beds are not very comfortable so for a long term stay, I would choose a different hotel or if anyone has back troubles/neck troubles. Overall, this was a great stay for the price. If you need a quick overnight or a budget hotel, this is for sure one of the best.

Oh my goodness where do I begin. Welp let's start with Henry, and Staff. All was Fantastic, and so very friendly, and so very helpful, they had offer My Husband, and Myself Chocolates, Told us about the timing Breakfast starts, and ends, which was delicious, HOT, Fresh, and they also give you 24 hours a day, Coffee, Tea, and Hot Chocolate all hot all fresh. Their suites are very clean, very stack with towels, Hand Towels, Wash Rags, their beds are sooo comfortable, and bed sheets are changed everyday, housekeeper are very polite, and asks you on what you need, and replaced it, room smells fresh each day we were there. Easy access to the beaches, lots of Restaurants are sooo close by. We have truly love everything about this placed, and this state being our 1st time visiting St. Petersburg/Clearwater. Although we didn't get in the pool, we did check it out and it was very clean, it's really nothing bad I can say about this place, cause it was just great all around, and the kitchen staff has done such a fantastic Job, of keeping the hot food fresh, and hot, and stack up, Grits were very good, nice, and buttery, eggs were very good, and soft the way I like them, bacon, and Sausages/links, were good as well, I even love how you all have a mini fridge with breakfast sandwiches to choose from, yogurts different flavors, waffles, all types of eagles, breads, English muffins, all types of cakes, fruits, cereals different flavors, different types of milk Thank you my stay was great

Quiet and clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. And it was close to Tropicana Field which was the reason for our stay.

I had an accessible room and the edge of the shower where it met the floor was either dirty or moldy. Under the rim of the toilet was not clean. One time when I came back to my room, there was a young man sitting on the floor between the two rooms before mine. He was on his phone which was plugged into the wall. I am no a prejudiced person but he said hello and I could tell he was middle eastern. Being a single senior traveler this was unsettling due to everything going on in our country. I went down to the lobby and told the desk clerk. She said she saw him (on the camera) and would go check but if he was staying there there is nothing she could do. I don’t agree. He could wait in the lobby if he didn’t have a room key. Same desk clerk was condescending when I asked about the TV schedule. There was a card in the drawer listing the available stations. They didn’t work. When I called the front desk, she said that was their old schedule and I should have been given a new one when I checked in. Just an attitude. And why keep the old one if it doesn’t work! Also, they only had two handicap parking spaces. I had to park in the main lot and step up a curb which is not ideal for me. Don’t think I will ever stay at that hotel again.

Breakfast was decent. Waffle machines, cooked sausage, bacon and eggs. Cereal, fruits and breaded products. There are also pre made sausage and egg biscuits, burritos and pastries if you need a quick breakfast. Hotel is a little on the edge of st Pete, but has good access to major roadways, restaurants and shops so it’s great for a short stay. Overall a nice place to stay. We came over memorial weekend, so the price of the stay was quite high, I’m sure it would be less if you’re staying outside of a national holiday. Breakfast area is a little small, would get quite busy as the room only seats 30 or so people.
