The location and amenities of the resort were great. The pool access and proximity to the beach area were a plus. Staff and pool service was fantastic too. I would have given the heading an excellent rating except for the fact that the rooms are a bit dated and in need of a facelift. Certainly not dirty but definitely in need of an update. The resort lobby was upgraded and fit for an excellent rating, but the rooms were lacking the same upgrades as the lobby area. Saint Simmons is a wonderful destination and the resort was close to the downtown area and the resort staff were friendly and professional. We would definitely come back.

Pool and beach accessible. Close to restaurant and 15 minutes away from stores

Overall, it was a nice, historic resort with a lot of history. If you stay in the historic section, expect a "historic" feel. Checking in was a little confusing. We were told that they will call us when the room is ready only to not have our phone number to call us. Luckily, I had checked with the front desk 30 minutes later (who confirmed that they did not have a phone number on file) only to find that the room had been ready. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay, the pool, the beach, and the resort itself.

Our oceanfront beach villa was lovely. We had a wonderful view we enjoyed from the patio. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Had a wonderful stay. When we arrived, our room had maintenance issues so they upgraded us to a villa. Yes it was a nice, and the beds were super comfortable. Within a short walk to the pools and restaurant there. We would definitely stay again.

Food and drinks were too expensive

It’s a very nice older property beside the beach. The hotel is lovely and the restaurant there is really good also. We stayed in the historic building and it was very quiet. I loved the ceiling fan over the bed!!

Great location, beach and pool is where is you win with the hotel. Property is very dated and poorly maintained. We had many room hiccups and had to change rooms 3x's. The staff was great and it made up for the stress of the issues we had. They apparently are starting a renovation, and after that we will give them another chance.

Honestly the staff overall was very good and accommodating. The housekeeping could have been better. We had to go to the front desk to ask for toilet paper during our 3 night stay. Also, there was supposed to be water bottles in the room daily, we never got any, had to go to the front desk again. No big deal, but that’s why I gave it 4 stars. The pool was pretty good, the beach was great. It’s a little strange getting to both, but still, no big deal. I would stay here again. It’s a very fun little area with lots to do.

Check in staff was great. His girlfriend went to UGA

The bed was literally too high for me to step into. Became a challenge for me at 70 years old. We had asked for a couple things and were told in an email that it was possible. But no mention was made, and because we were there only two days we didn't say anything. The room and facilities are dated. The grandeur of the hotel is obvious, but it looks like it needs attention.

The location The staff was unhelpful and unapologetic for the ac being out in our room. They lied about it getting fixed while we were at dinner and came back to an 80 degree room to sleep in. No accommodations were offered other than "too bad so sad." The room was also outdated and dingy for the price we paid. I was able to get a refund after begging for it. First they said they could only give me $150 back, then it was $300, then it was "we can't refund you because you booked through a 3rd party," and finally once the manager was involved she gave us a full refund and actually apologized (first time we got an apology.)

It looks good from the outside, the building is pretty rundown. There were broken glass windows and our AC didnt work very well. We reported that several large pieces of feces were floating in the hot tub. They did nothing for 30 minutes and watched as several more people including children got in to the water.

Gem of a resort where everything is in close proximity. You don't have to leave, but if you do, there are many food and live music options close by.

First time staying at the property. We loved the location and convenience of the resort.

Overall it was great. The only exception was the staff was rude at the Echo bar. Overlooked us twice before my husband spoke up and asked if they were going to wait on us. Just wanted a coffee...

I was put as far off the actually property as possible. Was told there were no more rooms regardless of what I paid for.

    the view was great
