Very clean! Super comfortable beds Fresh coffee made early evening by staff Great breakfast We did have a dog barking after we went to bed nearby in a room. Barked for awhile and I tried calling the front desk, but no one answered We ended up putting in earplugs

Limited breakfast. Room wasn’t touched in the three days we stayed. Public area trash bins overfilled. Check in took over 25 minutes. No one behind the desk for 15 minutes then an older system with pages to sign.

When we asked for at least more towels they delivered some and we were rudely told just to throw the used towels outside the room door.

Friendly staff. the breakfast staff went out of the way to help me as i had an early hike into the appalachian mountains. please see that the kitchen and the help staff receies my grateful thanks.

The staff was amazing however during our stay we had no wifi or running water.

I stayed at this hotel with my family for two nights while visiting Virginia Tech (the property is about a 35-minute drive from campus). While check-in was uneventful, the hotel is clearly showing its age. Upon entering the room, we were met with a musty smell typical of older properties, even though the AC was blasting and the window was left slightly ajar. While the bedding was clean, the room itself was very outdated. The main issue was sleeping at night due to the HVAC system: - Excessive Noise: The AC unit runs as loud as a tractor inside the room. - Defective Thermostat: The temperature sensor barely functions. When the AC kicks on, it cools the room to an freezing temperature before shutting off. It then fails to detect when the room warms up, delaying the next cycle until you are already sweating. You end up constantly freezing and sweating with every single cycle. Additionally, the bathroom plumbing design is frustrating. The bathtub and sink are equipped with permanent stoppers/plugs. Very few guests soak in a hotel bathtub, and these stoppers only serve to block the drain during a shower, leaving you standing in pooled wastewater. I would not recommend this hotel and certainly will not be staying here again.

The room was huge and very clean. The soap, shampoo and conditioner were so helpful for a quick overnight stop and the breakfast was great. The hotel over all was spotless and very well maintained . Tons of room in the breakfast area.

Breakfast was very good. Location was very convenient on our way to our Northern destination.

The hotel was a little out of the way but it was worth it because it was super clean and safe. I also left my medicine and the front desk attendant found it and ensured I was able to get it back.

A great place to stay along the 81 - comfortable beds, good amenities, decent breakfast. Have stayed at this property several times in recent years and is consistent.
