Angoria Hotel

My only drawback was the staff. The gentleman that checked us in was nice. The two ladies that were there in the morning when we came down for breakfast barely spoke. The woman that was supposed to be working in the lounge part was sitting on the couch. Didn’t ask if we wanted any hot food or coffee made. I actually didn’t know she worked there until she got up and went behind the check-in desk. Then she put on her lip gloss and played with her hair. When a guest walked into the lounge, he had to go over to ask for help. She got up and got his food without washing her hands. Good interactions with staff are something that makes me want to return to a property. Her behavior isn’t enough to not make me come back if I’m in San Angelo again, but she’s definitely a factor in the decision.

Personnel were pleasant; accommodating. Physical plant mediocre. Spent 4 nights. No clean sheets entire time; refresh on towels once. Room or bathroom never cleaned. No tv unless you use personal id for streaming. No local tv. No chair in room. Accommodations overall not 1st rate. Essentially old motel that has been renovated w/ moderate success. Comfortable mattresses.

Towels were fresh & white. Bar tender treated us like VIPs. I always stay here when I visit my son in SanAngelo Texas.

The real issue with our stay occurred on our second day there. After taking a shower, my husband, in his full naked glory, sat on the bed, when we heard the sound of a code being entered into our door lock. We both said hello?!, but before we could move, the door opened and a woman peeked in, got a good look at my husband, shouted “oh my god!”, and then slammed the door. There was no knock, just someone with access to room entry codes walking into rooms unannounced. I received an apology by text and an explanation of how they handle room codes after I asked to speak to a manager. They offered us 50% off our room for the night. We didn’t feel safe before, but the room code thing sent us over the edge. We checked out and into a different hotel in the area. They ended up refunding the whole amount for the second night, but I suspect that was because we checked out, which I guess made it obvious that we shouldn’t have to pay for a room in which our privacy was invaded and we didn’t feel safe in.

I paid over $200 for the night and the room was not what it seemed online. The room had hair all over the place from the bathroom floors (lots of small little hairs) the bathroom counter tops, the comforter and pillow cases all had other people hair on it. The staff did come reclean the room since they were unable to put us in a different room. The walls have obviously been scuffed but we're poorly painted over making the room feel dirty. The hotel is off of a main road and you can hear ALL the road noise. Especially the ambulatory sirens that seemed to run often. I was very disappointed in our stay, especially for the rate we paid. I feel like it was like staying at a motel 6 or super 8.

Pool was a little small overall had a great time

Clean and close to everything You could hear everything, hard to sleep. Melted ice and in the container where we were to get ice. No ice machine.

Old motel completely remodeled. Clean with nice walk in shower.

A little noisy due to the location, but a nice hotel, with a good breakfast, We would stay there again.

This property is basically a mold infested structure. I tried 4 rooms and popped into the gym also - I know mold when I smell it. The whole place. The whole structure is mold. Do not book. Do not stay. I did not stay, and I never got my money back. I had to drive overnight as a result - it was scary. They denied they had mold - and just so you know - remodeling and/or ownership changes don’t mitigate mold. They should refund me, but they denied it. I blocked them, so I wouldn’t get further triggered by their lies.

Staff was very friendly, atmosphere in bar and pool areas relaxing and welcoming, loved the rooms.
