Loews Coronado Bay Resort

We had a wonderful stay at this resort. the only downside would be that we were expecting to have access to the beach. If you’re going soon, I would call them ahead of time to see if the beach still has bacteria as it was unswimable on both the Bayside and the Oceanside and we were unable to swim at the beach. If we had known this ahead of time, we probably would not have booked on Coronado Island.

Exceptional

Clean and comfortable. The shuttle into Coronado was a nice touch. The pools were nice. The staff were amazing except for a few times I wasn’t told about the gratuity already on the bill so I ended up tipping 40%. 100 Dollars for an Omelette and Avocado Toast with 2 coffees is crazy.

Shower was a bit small but usable.

Location was good outside areas were useful It’s a little dated in terms of decor and needs money spending on it.

The location is great especially if you want to walk, skate or bike! We throughly enjoyed the three pools (especially the salt water adult pool) and we had a delicious dinner in the lounge! Great place for a staycation!

We enjoyed our stay here because the staff were always friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and I liked that it had plenty of drawers and closet space to unpack and get comfortable. I also enjoyed the large bathtub. The fitness room and pool area were nice and clean. We used the free shuttle throughout our stay and it always ran on time and the drivers were very nice. Although we didn’t bring our dog I loved that it was a dog friendly property and seeing all the happy dogs. I would have liked a reading light by the bed and the shampoo dispensers by the tub as well as the shower.

The entire staff was very nice. Our room had an incredible view.

Great location. Away from Coronado but the half hourly shuttle bus throughout the day was most welcome onto taking ten minutes to the centre. A great addition to the services offered by the hotel Quite noisy between rooms. May be because we had one with an interconnecting door?

Loews Coronado Bay left a lot to be desired - especially for a “luxury hotel.” The lobby is beautiful, but everything else was very outdated. The door to our hotel room wouldn’t fully close (despite being on a hinge) unless we yanked it closed every time. The walls are incredibly thin. I was awoken several times by the neighbors who had a small child that was crying. There is just a lot of loud noise in general (loud trash carts driving by at all hours right outside our room). The property is gated and there was a malfunction at the unmanned gate several times which backed traffic up about 10-15 cars deep. We would text the number on the sign and not get any response. The shuttle that runs from the property to downtown Coronado only runs until 8:45pm which doesn’t leave much time to have dinner and walk around afterward. It feels very isolated there given the distance to downtown. It’s also located next to a naval base so there were constant helicopters going back and forth - more noise. Overall I was really disappointed and wish that we had opted to stay in Coronado.

First night when going to bed . noted strong smell of urine in bed , not sure if it was bed or blankets.. We did get another room, and they comped parking and resort fee. when trying to leave could not get out of gate to leave property as they had not entered our License plate ( we asked them to do it twice). also had a water leak (from AC drain) on top of bathroom countertop. Overall the property was quite nice ,a bit run down , but staff was pleasant and restaurant was good .

Staff was very friendly and helpful and went out of there way to help guests The DJ at the pool, I go to a pool to relax not listen to a relentless loud beat; resort is showing its age; beach was closed due to contimination. A youth retreat was happening while we were there - unsupervised youth does not make for a pleasant experience.

It’s a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of “town”. The bay area is gorgeous and the pool area is very relaxing with lots of shade and chairs. The staff is great! Great food! t would be nice to see the rooms a bit more updated. Also, it’s a perfect gym for those that work out every day!
